Food was pretty good.
I had the macadamia salad with pork belly bites. It was very tasty.
My husband had steak and friends had fish and chips. Everyone was happy with meals.
Ordered sparkling water. It tasted like tap water and they had no bottled option. Bit annoying as I don't drink soft drinks. Staff said it was filtered but it didn't taste like it.

Went here for some morning tea drinks. I had a Bundaberg Ginger Beer. The size of this area was impressive. I wasn't staying at this hotel so it was great that I was still allowed to dine here despite not being a hotel guest. As well as morning tea drinks, I also dined here for dinner one night. I liked that there were lots of TVs in the restaurant that were broadcasting live sport such as the Big Bash Cricket League and the Australian Open. The range of menu items was huge and we ordered Hawaiian Pizza, Seafood Pizza and Fries. The pizzas were delicious and I thought the anchovy flavour was particularly strong. When I was there, you read the menu, decide what you want, then go up to the counter to place the order. The wait staff were also kind enough to take a photo of me and my family members there. There was a lively atmosphere and it was a pretty full restaurant.

We had a really great evening at the hotel on Australia Day. With few venues open on this day, the Bistro was busy with a great atmosphere. We were impressed at the number of staff from clearing tables to ordering food to bar staff. Special mention of awesome service from Riley at the bar - such a friendly smile with a great attitude and super service.
We had pizza, burgers & seafood pasta. Everything was fresh, wholesome and flavourful. The menu is extensive and offers something for everyone. Pricing is what Is expect from a atmospheric bistro anywhere in Qld. We really enjoyed our evening and only wish we'd come up earlier than our last night at Bargara. We'll just need to come back I guess!!🤌

Don’t listen to the haters. Good honest pub, meals are fine. Not a 5 star restaurant but better than most pub meals I’ve had. Staff were great. If in doubt just head in, won’t be disappointed unless your expectations are unrealistic

The Bargara hotel is a great stop for pub feed on Saturday night, unfortunately you’re unable to book. However we managed to find a table that would seat 6 adults. The menu has a wide range to choose from. The staff were honest about wait time of food which was (40 mins on Saturday night). Little shout out to Riley (worked the bar that night 8/2/25) great service.
Only feed back is that for $35 for the New York steak is the serving of the chips was small ! Especially after waiting , expected a little more considering the price paid.
Great overall experience would come back 🙂

Came here for dinner tonight (26/1/25) with my family, ordered 5 meals and three entrees, among those were two of the Eye Fillet, beef strip Tacos, what came out was some kind of steak that had been coated and deep fried, which resembled Chinese food. I spoke to the man who was in charge of the restaurant, who I think was called Michael, and explained that we had ordered Eye Fillet beef strip tacos and what I received was not that, he took my meal and returned minutes later stating that “they coat the meat and deep fry it” I told him it’s not what I ordered and that I didn’t want it, he took the meal and never returned. That was the end of the conversation. No apology, no outcome, just atrocious service. Just to clarify, there is nothing in the menu about the meat being fried, and at $28 for 3 tacos I’d expect something decent, not shopping centre, Chinese buffet quality. I will be telling everyone that listens, about my experience.|Photos attached.

Had a meal with 2 others in the hotel. Service was great and staff were very friendly. Sadly ,that's were it ended . Meals were a little over priced for what we were served and the quality was below average.
I had crumbed flathead which were thin fillets being 70% crumbs and had no sign of any fish flavour at all. My wife had cheese burger and chips which was no better than a MacDonald burger. And our guest ordered the rib fillet which they had forgotten to make up and when she went to find out where it was they told her that they forgot to make it but here's a scotch fillet that ready to go out , you can have that. Very poor effort from the kitchen.

Just moved here from out west. Thought that this place would my new local. But how can they justify $10.20 for a schooner of Great Northern Original. Won’t be back.
Next day went to the Golf Club and had a similar full strength beer and it was $3.00 cheaper and sat out on the deck and enjoyed the great view and nice breeze. It’s closer to home too.
