A solid 4* hotel. Comfortable, modern rooms/bathrooms. Good freshly cooked a la carte breakfast, maybe a little bit limited ... not 5*, but reasonable 4*. I'm a bit ambivalent about the "pet friendly" aspect!! I'm a dog lover/owner, but not sure about sharing my rest swimming pool time with a yapping dog!! The courtesy bus is a great touch, but has to be a lot more efficient! Way too much waiting around. Overall, a solid 4...

We came as outside guests and wanted to have a drink and possibly something to eat on the rooftop. The place is beautiful but after being seated, we waited in vain to be served. We ended up leaving after 20 minutes. Perhaps non-resident guests are not really welcome.

Great location, free shuttle to Rick Steins up the hill. Relaxed atmosphere, great staff. The rooftop is great for an arvo snack and cocktail. Really enjoyed staying here... Also amazing showers in the rooms too!!

Great room and good service although wifi not working first night of our 2 night stay. Rooftop bar was nice and food was great. A few blocks from the beach but The best thing about the location was the proximity to GWYLO, the great asian restaurant a few steps away.

Loved staying here for a romantic weekend away. Great food options at the rooftop bar and live music on a Sunday was a huge hit for us! This is the second Bannisters location we have stayed at, we will be back

This place is nice and staff is friendly. But speaking to a lot of the other guests up from Sydney we had similar reservations:
- If you are on level 2 - you hear the noise of chairs sliding and people walking above you on the roof top from around 6am and up until 10pm. It's quite annoying
- The food is nice but expensive, same as the drinks.
- The upper deck is an amazing concept for adults, but its not manned and we had to ask staff to put cushions on the day beds for us. I think it would be a nice escape for couples to get away from the families down stairs if they cared more about it.
- The WiFi is terrible and not much better than the service which is average.
- Otherwise the staff are really friendly and the whole place is clean. But for $600/night? I think you'd be better trying to book a room down the road at the other Bannister's.
Definitely worth a booking at Rick Steins, the free shuttle is convenient.

This is our fourth visit to Bannisters Pavilion and our welcome was as always faultless. This time we have extended our stay to 5 nights, optimising the Bannisters offers, to really indulge ourselves in the comfort and relaxation we have always enjoyed here.
