We didn't know much about Banjos Bakeries, but discovered on our Tassie trip September 2024, that not all Banjo Bakeries are the same.

This one in New Norfolk was fantastic!! It set the bar very high and no other Banjos compared.

My husband tried his first of many scallop pies from here and said it was one of the best he had.

I had a delicious Cauliflower and Cheese pie, and it was the best one I tried on our trip.

If in New Norfolk go to Banjos, really yummy pies, we would definitely go back!

My dad had a large flat white and he said it was “the best coffee he’s had in Tasmania”, “an excellent coffee!”. I had the avo and chicken roll and it was perfect! Cannot rate this place high enough !!

the cake was allright. service felt rushed. large cappuccino was extremely bad. first time I did not finish it. was just warm milk with a slight taste of coffee. the cups are huge though, so maybe there is just too much milk in it.

I frequent this cafe quite often because the food is nice. However every time I have been served by Ebony she has been rude and unprofessional. I tried to redeem a gift card I was given and she basically had a tantrum right in front of me because it was not working. One time I went in and another lovely young lady was trying to take my order and Ebony could not stop discussing her weekend plans despite the poor girls efforts to get her to stop so she could take my order. I stood there for a good five minutes waiting for her to finish her story. No complaints about other staff, all lovely and quick service.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food however… the coffee (large cap) tasted nothing like a cap, more like a watered down latte. Overall do not come here for the coffee, you’ll be disappointed.

Standard Banjos bakery experience. Pies and pastries are nice, albeit a little on the greasy side. Coffees are nothing to write home about but are satisfactory. Service was good. Nice range of fresh bread and rolls, but unfortunately they don't make any 100% rye breads. Free wifi is a bonus.
