Ate lunch here whilst out during the week. A bowl of Vietnamese soup nearly always ticks the box right. Not this one! The choices were somewhat limited but the meat quality was awful and the both didn't taste fresh. Not recommended.

I love a good Banh Mi and this place is about as good as it gets!
Very authentic Vietnamese street food and not just banh mi - they also have all the classic soups and curries.
You can eat in if you wish, it’s small and simple but very clean and you get free tea!

Bún bò Huế, one of the best soups in the world. Maybe even the very best. Shout-out to central Vietnam for creating this son of a gun, heavenly bowl of delicious noodles. This place here is well and truly a hidden gem, and I'm pretty sure the BBH here is a temporary special with only limited amounts available daily (for now).
It's called Banh Mi Anna in Birrong. It's a pretty plain hole-in-the-wall spot, with a few photos of Vietnamese food (and dim sum?) on the outside, and a text-only menu on the wall inside. I visited on a bánh mì recommendation from a Birrong local, and that's what most customers were ordering. The bánh mì thịt heo quay (crackling pork) was pretty nice. A little untraditional to see Aussie mayonnaise used, but the touch of sweetness was actually quite tasty amongst the slices of roast pork. Ask for extra pate if you can.
But back to the BBH. 'Bún bò - $15' was scribbled onto the wall menu in black sharpie. That's what makes me think it's a special. But goodness gracious me, it was glorious and I'm so glad we made the split second decision to order it. This BBH is as good as one you'd try at your Vietnamese aunty's place, or from Vietnamese home-cooks who sell their food on Facebook marketplace. The soup is rich, with deep deep layers of meaty flavour. Saté and a super dose of lemongrass make the soup aromatic as. The noodles had a nice bitey texture and coupled with the crunch of the fresh salad you add in, it's a serious flavour and texture blockbuster.
There's only 6 seats inside the restaurant, 2 by the window and 4 on a table. Snag the table and you can catch the sauce tray, where there are jars of house-made saté and a very spicy chilli sauce. Combine the two with hoisin sauce and you'll have the perfect sweet, spicy, tongue-tingling sauce to dip the slices of pork and brisket in!

Amazing bun bo hue. Ive tried all over Bankstown and sydney cbd and this place takes the crown. The owner even makes his own chilli paste that you can add on the side. Super lemongrassy, spicy and delicious

We have been wanting to try this local eatery for a while. We finally did it tonight! What a disappointment!!! We took away beef stew which has no fresh herb or onion. We chose rice noodles with it and we got phở noodle ?. The stew was so sweet and not as aromatic as it's supposed to be. This explains why the place is empty at dinner time on a Friday night! We are not rushing back in a hurry...

I immediately stopped looking at the name of the store while passing by, I specifically went for their crispy pork roll but unfortunately was let down by the texture of the meat, hardly any crispy bits and the overall flavour was bland to my liking. They did load it with meat but most of it was just meaty pork cubes. I wish I had a better experience to try coming back.

Wow, absolutely amazing breaky.
First visit I endulged in the Roast Pork Bahn Mi which was absolutely scrumptious, the crackling and succulent Pork pieces combined with the usual bahn mi fillings. It was that good I had to go back for round 2 the next morning, this time try something different from the menu.
Round 2.
This time I needed to try a meal and test the waters on their hot food. Jack highly recommended me try the Beef Pho, which I'm not really a fan of as I have had many negative encounters with this dish at other establishments. I took the offer he done a good job selling this dish and boy was I impressed. Presentation caught my eye, and then Jack even prepared the sauces and schooled me on how to eat this type of dish and mate I really enjoyed I even thought I wouldn't be able to finish as serving was I seemed very generous.
Excellent customer focus and service provided, thank you Jack for looking after me on my visit will definitely be back for more.
A must place to check out if ever in the area.

This place easily is in the top 10 banh mi's in Sydney, they specialise in marinating and roasting speciality cooked meats.
It's not just a pork roll.
The roasted meats are cooked to perfection and are layered on the roll with finesse.
This puts the place on Amy Street to shame. Quite a bit of grissle in the pork today, usually there's none. Chicken roll is beautiful. Roll is perfect blend between crispy, crunchy & chewy to the last bite. omg.
