A lovely stay at The Balmoral on York around the corner from centre of Launceston. Although an older accommodation it is clean with a very comfortable qs bed, beautiful bed linen and bath towels. We had a great view of Launceston from the forth floor. Breakfast is exceptional and one of the best we have come across! Staff are friendly and helpful. Only down side are the small half cups in the suits and also a concern for those with physical disabilities is the parking at the rear is on a steep incline…would be great if they had a couple of disabled parking spaces.
But all in all will definitely return!

Good location in Launceston c10 minutes from bars & restaurants. The room was spacious and well appointed, but felt a little dated and would benefit from a refresh. Breakfast was held in a nice area but the choice was limited without paying a further supplement. Staff were friendly and car parking was good.

Clean and spacious room for a solo traveller. Good location. Cafes and shopping malls are within walking distance. Breakfast is included. Breakfast consists of breads, fruits and cereals. Unlimited serving including coffee and tea.

We had three nights at the Balmoral on York in one of the refurbished city facing rooms. The room was very comfortable and well equipped with a smart TV that enabled us to log onto our home streaming services, The bed was very comfortable.||The usual tea and coffee facilities were great. The bathroom was well quipped.||The lounge area was comfortable and the city views provided a great perspective of the Launceston CBD. An elevator to each level made handling our luggage that much easier.||The hotel is well situated and is within walking distance to restaurants and bars and theatres in the CBD. Parking was provided and this allowed us to do the tourist drives in and around Launceston. There was a short walk up the hill to return to our accommodation, this might impact upon less mobile guests. ||Our Host 'James' was most welcoming and very helpful. Our accommodation included an adequate buffet breakfast. Overall, our experience at Balmoral on York was positive.||It would be remiss of me not to mention Danni who provided us with suggestions to visit places like the Beaconsfield Mine where two miners were trapped for two weeks following a mine collapse in 2006. A truly remarkable place. The second was the Platypus and Echidna exhibit. Thanks Danni for the advice local walking maps, and the service you provided during our visit.

Very good location just a few steps from the CBD.| Parking was easy. Rooms are a little dated but everything was ok and clean.|It is not a very charming hotel but does the job. More like a motel.|We liked the breakfast. Check-in guy was very nice and helpul.

I booked three rooms at this hotel. On the day we had to reschedule the trip to the next day due to unforeseen circumstances. They didn't just let me reschedule for the next day but charged me for the price of the three rooms due to their 24 hr cancellation policy. The lady was not at all apologetic but plain rude. Needless to say I didn't rebook with them and will not be staying there ever.

This is a great place conveniently situated hotel near to the town centre Greeted by a nice friendly guy on reception who made some good recommendations of places to visit and where to eat and drink.
Nice big clean room with comfortable bed. Amazing breakfast included! Would thoroughly recommend
