This is one of the most amazing B&Bs I've had the pleasure of staying in. The decor, atmosphere and gardens were beautiful. A well provided brekky and so comfortable. Andrea and Keith were great hosts and ensured we had an enjoyable stay.

Our hosts were very welcoming and informative, and the property is a well situated, charming Edwardian set in a beautiful garden. Our accommodation was in the spacious garden suite with a private entrance, a very comfortable bed and generous breakfast supplies were included in the reasonable tariff. The decor was quite lavish, which could be toned down a bit to make it feel less cluttered, though that is probably just our personal taste and the kitchenette had a very odd extremely high sink, but the shower was of real concern. The hosts had warned us it had a step-up, but though l could manage that, even with disability issues,stepping back down would have been impossible without assistance from my husband. The grab rail was badly positioned, and it all felt quite perilous. We feel this needs professional attention.

The hosts were very welcoming. The room was spacious and the ensuite was well presented. The B and B was too personalised with far too many knick knacks on display. The access from the car to the room was arduous with too many steps. The kitchen area had a lot of crumbs around the microwave and other appliances. At the time of booking gluten free was requested - this was not a problem as long as I bought my own bread as I was told it was difficult to purchase locally. I had no trouble purchasing it at the local supermarket. Apart from 2 eggs there was nothing else provided for me. I could not guarantee the packaged fruit, the yoghurt, the cereals, the croissants or the cake were gf. If an adequate breakfast had been provided it would have made the stay more enjoyable. The gardens surrounding the home were beautiful.

Dalfruin Bed and Breakfast is in a gorgeous garden setting which makes you feel relaxed. Andrea and Keith were very welcoming hosts. The upstairs apartment was comfortable and very quiet. The walk along the river was good although the flying foxes were a bit noisy. A wonderful place to stay.

My wife and I stopped at Bairnsdale for two nights on a recent road trip. Generally we try to avoid staying in ‘typical’ motels wherever possible - preferring places with a bit of character. Dalfruin B&B was the perfect antidote to the usual bland overnighter. We stayed in ‘Ballyvista’, one of only three rooms in this historic property. It was a huge self-contained studio room with an equally large ensuite bathroom complete with claw foot bath. Our hosts supplied a generous breakfast each day along with plenty of information about local activities, points of interest, cafes and restaurants. Dalfruin is only a ten minute walk to the central part of Bairnsdale.||There’s also a nice garden that would be most enjoyable for those staying in the warmer months. Highly recommended.

This is an outstanding B & B we found on our wonderful driving adventure from Sydney to Melbourne. Eclectic, cozy decor, fully stocked with everything we could possibly need for our overnight stay, including all the fixings' for a lovely breakfast in the morning. Clean bathroom, comfortable bed and thoughtful, friendly hosts. We booked on an iPhone and arrived 15 minutes later. The owners greeted us warmly, directed us to several lovely restaurants for dinner and suggested we go immediately so we wouldn't miss the early closing times. They also told us about the secret of Raymond Island and the free ferry to take us there to see Koalas in their native habitat, one of the highlights of our journey we would have missed otherwise. I highly recommend this B & B!

It's hard to know where to start. Hosts Andrea & Keith have created something unimaginably interesting. In my delightfully presented and air-conditioned Garden Apartment, I felt as if I was stepping into a colourful 1960's Jacques Tati film set, somewhere in regional France. Having enjoyed visits to France, lovely memories came flooding back. Everything that I could have possibly wanted for breakfast was available in my well-equipped kitchenette. Useful information on regional attractions was in my apartment as was a now obligatory internet connection. I slept soundly in a comfortable queen bed looking up at an artwork that reminded me of Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast At Tiffany’s”. I loved every minute of my four night stay. I was there solo. One day, I hope to return with my partner for a romantic sojourn.
