We decided to have a few days in Ballina-a pleasant seaside town for relaxing or stopover travelling North or south.|The rooms are motel style so was good to just drive up to our room for unpacking the car.|The resort is now a little bit aged but the room was comfortable with all of the necessities available. Extra cutlery/crockery available from the kitchen.|A bath in the bathroom was a bonus for relaxing after a day out.|We were aware of the busy main road but really did not affect our stay as road noise in our room was minimal.|In the warmer weather, the swimming pool would be great.|We had excellent hot breakfasts delivered to our room to set us up for the day.|On the first night of our stay we were not particularly, so we had the easy meal of hot creamy soup with warm bread rolls-delicious. Panini wraps were also available.|The resort had a nice little bar with reasonably priced drinks and great service from a young lady from Brazil.|We did not dine at the restaurant as we had other plans but menu and locale looked good.|The room was serviced daily to a high standard and staff were helpful and responsive.|The Resort appeared to have good custom indicating a good solid reputation

Stayed over for one night. Wonderful experience checking in at 6pm after a long drive. The friendly front desk attendant handed me the room key without any lengthy standing around (like some other places), showed us to the room and recommended room service from their on-site restaurant. The room service was quick and the meals delicious. They even waited until our mains were finished before bringing the ice cream and lava cake dessert. Will definitely return!

My husband, teen son and I stayed in the executive twin room and we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious it was. The beds were really comfortable. I loved that there was a sliding door separating the sleeping area from the bathroom and food area, so that the slight humming of the fridge was blocked off. We ate from the restaurant on site and wowzers, the meals were absolutely fantastic and delivered straight to out door quickly. |They offer free bike and helmet hire, free washing machine, dryer and powder use, room service, provide ice cubes etc. |We didn't hear any traffic from the road at all, and we were in a room right near the road (which is the main street). The only slight criticism we had was that you could hear everything through the walls if you have someone staying in the room next to you: every time the taps were turned on, the toilet flushing, the TV. We stayed in room 36 and our air conditioning unit would make a loud clicking noise every 3 seconds for about 4 minutes straight and then stop for 10 minutes before starting again. The second night we were there, it was really hot and we had to run the air conditioner through the night, so the clicking sound disrupted us every 10 minutes. |But overall, we really enjoyed our stay and recommend it to others.

Very clean room, comfortable bed, the staff were very friendly and helpful, we didn’t use the restaurant but the in-house room service was yum, quiet surroundings. This was a pit stop on the way north and we are leaving here rested and refreshed. Would stay here again.

We stayed for one night. On arrival the team provided all the information we needed in regards to the room, our needs, restaurant and other facilities. Our evening meal in the restaurant was a delight especially the desert and coffee. The main meal was also a joy to behold. We were well looked after, the room was very clean and well presented and it was a very well enjoyed stay.

Unfortunately our stay at the misnamed Ballina Byron Islander Resort was not a success. We were charged an unexpected cleaning fee under false pretences as outlined below. |The motel is located in an industrial district. The room was expensive which we put down to travelling in school holidays. The room was clean and actually not too noisy considering the location. |There was minimal crockery in the room which resulted in us asking for plates and knives to make our breakfast. The reception desk explained it wasn’t kept in the rooms as they couldn’t ensure cleanliness of the crockery. |We left the room neat and tidy with the crockery and glasses stacked on the small bench as there was no dishwasher or washing up facilities |Imagine our horror to receive an email stating we had left the room in a bad state and were being charge an additional $125 for cleaning fees!!|I’ve tried to contact the owners and reception staff to no avail. Extremely costly mistake to stay here.

Stayed here for almost 3 weeks while working in Ballina. Lovely people, definitely come back. Restaurant had good quality food and variety. Would definitely stay here again

Lovely stay at Ballina Island resort.|Our room overlooked the pool area, was not hot enough to swim but looked inviting.|Large comfortable bed and large room with couch.|Very new bathroom with large shower and hot water.|We had to stay an extra night, due to car troubles but it was great .|Great service from the staff.
