Came back to this place as we enjoyed our last visit. Not as enjoyable this time. Was soured by rude behaviour of one particular waitress and our drinks didn't arrive until we finished eating. No offer of apology. The view was perfect.

Situated opposite Henley Beach near Henley Square, this is in a great location and has potential. It does get quite busy, so it is advisable to book in advance. You have to order at the bar and the sizes of the food were small for the price. We tried the SA Chargrilled Skewer Board, kingfish sashimi and chargrilled calamari. The food was ok, nothing really stood out. We really wanted to enjoy this restaurant, but it was all just underwhelming.

What’s not to love here?! The staff are friendly, the food and drinks are great and the atmosphere lively with great music. The platters make it so much easier when meeting with a group for drinks and nibbles.
Also Kid friendly with a kids menu and mocktails for the special occasion.
The restrooms can do with a lot more attention throughout service.
No accessibility for consumers with disability

Apparently this is one of the gems of Henley Beach. I extremely recommend to go on Sundays, vibes are nice, sunsets are awesome and there’s always music. People around. Drinks. I wish I could vape or smoke outside on the terrace but I understand the law.
Food is good and there’s a lot of choices for everyone.

Popped past Saturday 11ish and managed to book a table for midday.
Great service, lovely location and the share platter was amazing value and quality. We will definitely return.

We had a nice time at BB after bar and pub hopping in the area. It was a good place to have a late lunch. The menu has a range of stuff and something to keep everyone happy. The outdoor area provides a nice view of the beach and jetty

I had high hopes for Bacchus Bar, but last night’s experience was incredibly disappointing. Everything started off fine until I ordered a margarita (the cocktail, not the pizza). Coming from a Latin background, I love trying margaritas wherever I go, so I decided to give theirs a shot. Unfortunately, it was a huge letdown.

While I’ve had worse margaritas before, the real issue here wasn’t just the drink—it was the terrible customer service. At $22, I expected at least some effort. When I politely asked the bartender, a man with a long beard (who also claimed to be the owner), to taste it himself to see what might have gone wrong, his response was dismissive and rude. He told me, “When you own a bar, you can create your own,” and added, “Next time, you can come and make yours.”

What he didn’t know is that I’ve owned a bar in another country and have worked in the industry for over 10 years. I know how cocktails should taste and, more importantly, how customers should be treated. Unfortunately, Bacchus Bar failed miserably on both counts.

If you’re looking for a place with good drinks and respectful service, I’d suggest going elsewhere. I certainly won’t be returning.

Just a tip how to do a margarita don't put salt inside of the cocktail mate =)

Have had average food a few times now. This last time we had the meat platter. No lamb was on there as advertised. Nothing on there tested great, either. Bit of a shame when the location is great.
