We went to the Herberton Village took a ride on the train then to the mining museum and then to cap it off the best little hotel in Nth Queensland.||Great pub hot food cold beer great service. Friendly people cosy warm wood stoked fired going all day.||Photos on the walls of locals a great bunch. ||You must have a beer in this unique little pub.

Basic pub food available average about $13 per meal. Husband had Rissoles mash, veg & gravy. I had "curry n rice" both meals were good size & value for money. The curry was aromatic with tender beef chunks. Both meals were hot as in heat. Beer was cold & glasses clean. If u want a boutique experience u will not get it & does lack atmosphere. But, it is a small country town pub that the locals drink at & is strugglung to stay alive like so many bush pubs. The colour scheme in the hotel part is definitly interesting.

Dinner for five was excellent value. Four fish and chips. Good portions of fish in light batter, with salad and chunky chips, all freshly cooked. One roast beef with generous servings of vegetables. Red wine reasonably priced. A good meal, will definitely go again when in Herberton.

Sorry time for this place to go . Attracts local hobos and more .. dare I say. Pub next door is trying to bring families and alike to the pub . It’s just not a clean look . Always people out front smoking and attracts the worst . I want to say something nice , but it’s a horrible seedy pub .

Beds were comfortable, the shower good but the rest leaves a lot to be desired especially the colour scheme & the cleanliness. A little rich at $90 a night. When we asked if we could get a meal was advised that cook wasn't coming in. Asked if we could get a drink later on only to be advised that only if we got to the bar before 6pm.

This room is clean, has it's own bathroom but no air conditioner. There is a floor fan in the room. It has tea and coffee facilities, a bar fridge, a few dishes and a toaster. The motel is behind the Australian Hotel and you book the room at the hotel bar. The curtains are quite thin so something to cover the eyes is a good idea. This room sleeps four people, although we only booked for two.

We stayed here as nowhere else available in herberton. It was a Friday night, so extremely noisy until midnight. Room was dirty with stained curtains and carpet. Bed was very uncomfortable and the mirror was missing. Shower was good. A good clean and paint would do wonders but not sure how to deal with the noise. We wore earplugs but still noisy! $90 a night! I could have overlooked things if it were $40!

The phrase 'don't judge a book by its cover' is appropriate for this little hotel/motel. Behind the pub are a few good size motel rooms, the one i stayed in was clean and tidy with a double bed and 2 singles, kettle, fridge, TV, desk, large shower and bathroom. Yes, the room is a little dated, but the owners are friendly and it is in the main street opposite grocery store and newsagent. Nice inexpensive motel room.
