Made a last minute booking and was very surprised for a complimentary double room with a balcony. Neat, clean and comfy bed. Plenty of hot water shower. Key safe box was very convenient. Thank You Julie for providing us extra tea sugar and milk. That was great. Would love to stay again on our next visit to Brisbane.

⭐ 1 Star – DO NOT STAY HERE – A MAN WALKED INTO MY ROOM AT 12:30 AM

I had the most terrifying experience at Ascot Budget Inn and I want to warn others: this hotel is NOT SAFE.

Due to a mix-up with room keys (which was the hotel’s mistake), I unknowingly received the wrong key upon check-in. At 12:30 am, I was woken up by loud, aggressive banging on my door. Before I could even process what was happening, a man unlocked my door and walked straight into my room while I was inside (asleep). He immediately started yelling at me, accusing me of stealing a key.

As a young woman traveling alone, this was absolutely terrifying. I had no idea who this man was or what his intentions were. No hotel staff should ever allow this to happen, and no guest should ever feel this unsafe.

To make things even worse, when I first arrived, I noticed that the back sliding door to my room was left unlocked. This hotel has zero regard for guest safety, and their check-in process is completely unprofessional. I never even received the after-hours code via text, which is likely why this mix-up happened in the first place.

I have formally reported this incident to consumer protection authorities and will continue escalating it. The way this hotel handled the situation was unacceptable, and I strongly urge anyone considering staying here to think twice about their safety.

If you value your security, DO NOT STAY HERE.

Wonderful service and location. The manager went above and beyond to accommodate our needs.

Whilst the rooms differ from those on the website, for the price it was clean and friendly service with an air conditioned room.

This place also includes breakfast in the cost which is a bonus.

Customer service was great although I came a lot earlier than intended check in, they were still able to organise a room for me to rest before my afternoon flight.

Room was comfortable and clean

And again with the customer service was amazing, as I was able to receive a complimentary ride to the airport.

Would highly recommend if you are looking for a short stay in between flights as the location is super close to the airport.

We only stayed 1 night but when we arrived the room wasn’t made up, which is okay, we can understand that the team would of had a busy schedule. We called the manager I believe and she was really helpful and apologetic so no stress with that.

The room itself was average, but there was a smell in the bathroom area and the sink outside the bathroom? The aircon was also a bit loud, with a lengthy instruction book which seemed more like and airbnb! Thenonly thing i would say is the cleanliness might need a bit more attention and maybe some labels for the shower? I wasn’t sure what was shampoo, conditioner or body wash!

Great spot for 1-3 nights tho for a quick night.

If I could give zero stars I would but I can’t so I’m giving them 1! Do not waste your time or money with this Inn. My friend and I booked a room for one night and as soon as we got there we were confused as it wasn’t the place they advertised on the website. We went into our room and it was disgusting with brown dripping out of the AC. They falsely advertised what the rooms would look like and quite literally were in a completely different building than what we were told. We are two young girls who didn’t feel safe and ended up calling someone to come pick us up to go somewhere else. We tried to apply for a refund through a travel website, however, the owners couldn’t be reached after multiple times and we were scammed of our money. I am absolutely appalled and could not be more disappointed!

We stayed there last night, two rooms with kitchen but what was advertised on the website was completely different to what we actually got.. the rooms were disgusting, dust had a foul smell, one remote for two tv’s. the tvs did not work well kept cutting out.. the kettle was filthy in the inside. The shower had old soap on top of the dispensers from previous guests and was covered in hair.. the counter in the kitchen was dirty with coffee stains. I went to plug my phone charger in behind the beside so much dust and filth.. vomit in the corner of the toilet. In my friends room (delux) the aircon was leaking with large brown runs everywhere, blood on the curtains, shower was grubby and stunk. The patio also smelt like urine.. we have since look at previous reviews and apparently the leaky aircon hasn’t been fixed and people have said the same about website pictures and cleanliness and the smell. I’m very disappointed, would never recommend, count wait to get home and scrub myself clean.

This has everything you need for budget accommodation. Air conditioning in the rooms, a small kitchen with cooking utensils, fridges in the bedroom, breakfasts in the mornings and it's clean. I was impressed at how quiet it was and how well I was able to sleep. I've stayed in other places before where it was quite noisy and I felt scammed as a result of paying a lot of money. This wasn't the case with this accommodation and it doesn't need to carry a "buyer beware" tag. If you've travelled on long flights and you're looking for somewhere cheap, this is an 8 minute drive from the airport and typing as someone who's a light sleeper and very particular with noise, I slept very well there. I highly recommend this place.
