Extremely Disappointed with Our Experience - Avoid This Venue!

We recently held our daughter’s first birthday celebration at this venue, and we regret choosing it. From start to finish, the experience was a disappointment due to both the rude owner and poor service, despite the venue being beautiful and the bar staff being quite nice.

We paid a significant amount specifically for the grazing platters, and they were shocking. The quality was nowhere near what we expected for that price. On a brighter note, the burgers were actually nice, but that was a small consolation in an otherwise frustrating experience.

Notably, we reached out to the owner to inform him of a death in the family prior to our event, which affected the attendance of nearly 30 guests. His lack of response to our message was unprofessional and left us feeling disregarded.

On the day of the event, the owner was less than accommodating. Despite submitting a layout plan as requested, the setup did not match our specifications and he frequently interrupted the setup team with changes. Additionally, he insisted that we lower the music volume starting at 7 PM. If the venue is not open to having loud music, it would be helpful for future clients to be made aware of this policy, as music is an important part of any celebration.

Although the venue itself is lovely, the owner’s demeanour distracted from the special occasion. Our guests were taken aback by his behaviour. To make matters worse, we had booked the venue for five hours, yet after just four hours, they started packing up and taking back trays of food—including at least 30 burgers and 30 chicken skewers—without consulting us. When we immediately inquired about the food, the staff bluntly told us it was too late to bring it back, and there wasn’t much left anyway.

We also paid extra for our cake to be cut and served, only to be told by the staff that they didn’t know how to do it. Even after we offered to show her, she insisted it was our responsibility. So why charge us for it then ?

Overall, this venue did not meet our expectations for what was meant to be a joyful occasion. While the bar staff were genuinely nice, and the venue is actually nice. We are unlikely to return and would recommend potential clients to thoroughly consider their options before booking.

the venue is casually set up for an informal party or semi formal event with individual spaces for hire
I’d describe it as low budget but cheerfuL because of brightly coloured backdrops on the walls
Lots of moveable seats on wheels with cushions you can arrange how you like so people can break into smaller groups
Also metal stools so plenty of seating
It has an outdoor seating area at the front on the street and a central bar as you enter
This venue is relatively large and not crowded and easily accommodates 50 people
Food was basic party food but tasty
It worked perfectly for a large group of family and friends getting together

Not surprised they don’t have any proper photos online as the place looks unbelievably cheap. There are no “rooms” only cheap furniture and Temu tapestries separating a few awkward spaces. The guy we arranged the viewing with was rude, and on top of that, the prices listed on the printouts at the venue were higher than those advertised on their website.

Addition - be careful of fake positive reviews here. Fake profiles. A venue that has no respect for locals and has numerous events with very undesirable people. I hope residents complain about the noise, drunks and loud music! Shocking to have this in a residential area! BCC - get involved! Inside it looks tacky as hell! Something dodgy going on!

Have no one in there and when they do they are screaming till late at night. No respect or consideration for the apartments or residents. Looks like a cheap car boot sale inside with 0 sound proofing
