Ambience On Burleigh Beach - Burleigh Heads, Queensland

Our recent stay at Ambience was disappointing due to several quality and cleanliness issues.

Upon checking into our room, we noticed there was rubbish left behind in the bathroom and promptly alerted the staff within 24 hours. Unfortunately, as the stay progressed, additional concerns arose. The bathroom was not cleaned to an acceptable standard. In the living area, one of the chairs was visibly affected by mould. In the kitchen, we discovered food scraps left behind and cooking utensils that were not properly cleaned.

We reported each issue to the hotel as they were encountered, speaking to them once upon arrival and then sending a follow up email with photos within 48 hours of checking in (of a four night stay). Our four night stay was over Christmas and Boxing Day. We decided to wait until Boxing Day to email a detailed complaint as to not interrupt Christmas Day for either us or the staff. We were later told that because we didn’t let them know on Christmas Day that they wouldn’t accept our complaint. Despite having another night left of our booking after raising additional issues, management still didn’t take any action. We weren’t offered a cleaning service or a different room at any time.

We were originally offered a 10% refund as compensation, this refund was never processed. After enquiring about this, management said this review was misleading so they’d decided to not give a refund. She also hung up on me after I asked her not to speak over me while on the phone. Overall, terribly unprofessional. The photos below speak for themselves for the quality of the room but the most disappointing aspect of this was how poorly management handled our issues.

The lack of attention to cleanliness and the unresolved promise of compensation significantly detracted from our experience. We hope management addresses these concerns to improve future guest stays.

We have stayed at Ambience a few times and know what to expect and it is a lovely position with great modern facilities.
My only criticism this time around was that we only got a luxury ocean view room on the 3rd floor and really couldn't see much. Next time I will ask what floor I am on and want to be higher than the 9th floor to see above the building in front and the trees too. My only other comment was the spa near the pool, the surface is very hard and gravel and I cut myself on the hard spiky gravel which was not nice.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom apartment on the 11th floor. Very well appointed. At present it is very noisy at night as the lightrail lines between Broadbeach & Coolangatta are being built & most of the work is done at night. The line is being built on the highway which is right next to the apartments. We were not advised of this when booking.

One of the best experiences I have ever had at an apartment complex. Ange was a life saver !! I got stuck on the coast in a storm. She kindly found me a beautiful room with an ocean view and such a comfy bed! She met me at the door with an umbrella in gale force winds! Gave me a bottle of wine as I was soaked and even offered clothes! The loveliest genuine person ever! The room was massive and had everything I needed ! I dried my clothes in the drier and was so relaxed and comfortable. I can highly recommend this accomodation as one of the best in Burleigh!! 6 stars! A must to stay at! Great for business events too!

Beautiful spacious flat, everything clean and modern, we had two bathrooms, three sleeping rooms, kitchen, laundry room, living room, huge balcony, amazing ocean view, free underground parking, very happy about our stay and the facilities

This is the second time in a little over a year that we have stayed at Ambience. The good - the room was lovely - three bedroom apartment with everything you need - kitchen, laundry etc. Clean and well appointed. The pool is great, everything is easy to use and access and we had no problems during our stay. The one BIG issue, outside of the control of the Ambience, is the ongoing roadworks nearby. We thought that a year later there would be some progression in the work of extending the tram line but in reality it didn't appear so. Roadworks begin around 9pm five nights a week and continue until the early hours. All sorts of crashing and banging that will interrupt your sleep if you are a light sleeper. The is in addition to the general constriction of the nearby streets - traffic is awful and it's getting tricky as a pedestrian too. It sounds bad, but if you can get over this, then it really is a great location (and will be awesome once the tram is finished). It's (generally) and easy walk to the Burleigh Heads shops etc which are great, the beach is close and there's a park across the road. All up, can't wait to see the finished neighbourhood!

After staying here many times we were excited to have our first family Xmas together in seven years. We checked in on Friday and immediately noticed the AC was not cooling. After a very restless night I let management know and because it was a Saturday the AC contractor would not come out.
We were offered fans but they never arrived.
We were not contacted again by management to check on us, apologise or offer any rebate on our very expensive ‘luxury’ apartment. We found out that four other apartments were also affected. I emailed today to ask for some discount but rather than hear from the management I was sent this!
