A Delightful Moroccan Experience in Wagga Wagga

I recently discovered a charming Moroccan restaurant in Wagga Wagga that truly deserves a shout-out! It's clear that this place is popular, as they require bookings in advance—food is prepared fresh once reservations are confirmed. Luckily, I had a stroke of luck and managed to walk in on a busy evening. To my delight, they were able to serve me a delicious lamb dish that was simply exquisite.

The hospitality at the restaurant was nothing short of outstanding. The staff made me feel right at home, enhancing the overall dining experience. The flavors of the food were rich and authentic, and I could taste the passion that went into every dish.

One suggestion I have for the restaurant is to incorporate a bit more Moroccan decor and perhaps a soft instrumental soundtrack to further immerse diners in the experience. It would add to the already lovely atmosphere and make it even more memorable.

Overall, I highly recommend visiting this hidden gem if you're in Wagga Wagga. Just remember to book ahead to ensure you don't miss out on their incredible food!

This is first time we tried Moroccan food and it was amazing. Their service was nice and they helped us with the information we need. Food taste was great and we had good time. Price reasonable. Enough parking on street.

Al Maghrib is one of my most exciting new experiences, in Wagga Wagga which has been an awesome surprise. This casual eating establishment is too good to miss, worth a visit to enjoy the amazingly authentic Moroccan cuisine created, prepared, cooked by the chef Mustafa, a genius with the Tagine! Born and bred in Casablanca and after many years in Dubai, he has founded this fabulous place to share his talents with food lovers like us. You cannot describe to flavours and textures, you must try for yourself. Highly recommend.

Back in October 2024, I had lunch at Al Maghrib with my colleague. It was a lunch that went beyond a meal to become a cultural experience full of warmth, flavour, and heart.

We tried the chicken & lemon tagine and the Moroccan lamb with prunes. The lamb was incredibly tender, with crunchy almonds balancing the sweet prunes, while the fragrant, citrus-infused chicken tagine, complemented by salty olives created a flavourful feast. The freshly baked flatbread was warm, soft and ideal for soaking up every last drop of the richly spiced sauces from the tagine.

To finish, the traditional Moroccan mint tea was a standout moment. We were captivated as we watched the owner prepare and pour the tea with a sense of ceremony and pride. The tea, mint and sugar were perfectly balanced, and was a gentle, refreshing comfort after the hearty meal.

What truly elevated the experience was the heartfelt hospitality. The owner Mustapha radiated genuine warmth and took clear joy in sharing his culture. We love his beautiful selection of postcards (rather than business cards) that each reveal a unique glimpse of Morocco.

Al Maghrib is more than a restaurant… it's a celebration of Morocco, full of generosity, soul, and unforgettable food & tea.

Today I went in with my friends, I had such delicious food. There was this new girl working there she was short with long black hair. She had the best customer service ever, her communication and smooth and fast customer service made our experience much better. The place was so clean and she helped us with anything we asked her to. Honestly never seen any better customer service skills. She was so respectful and helpful. She deserves a raise. Also whoever made the food deserves a raise, def coming back

A Moroccan Gem in Wagga Wagga!
Amazing food, warm hospitality, and a true culinary experience. The Mint Tea was the best I’ve ever tasted, and the tagines came with authentic Moroccan bread—perfect for soaking up every bit of the rich, flavorful sauce. The Chicken Spring Rolls with cinnamon and icing sugar sounded wild but worked beautifully. Both the lamb and chicken tagines were tender, aromatic, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend !

One of the best dining experiences I have had. A simple, neat and clean place in a country town. Mustafa-owner and chef has wonderful manners and very welcoming person. The menu is small and here in lies the beauty of food. Signature of man who knows how to cook, prepare and present. We had the lamb tegine with prunes and the chicken tegine with apricots and sultanas. Both were tasty, delicious and so well balanced. The dinner was just a joy that my friend and I will remember for a long long time. Mustafa has made me a client for life. I wish there was an option for giving such places 10 stars and I would happily do so. A big big thank you.
