I encountered an unexpected printing charge of $10, which I paid promptly. However, I was disheartened to receive poor service afterward. The staff’s attitude was unprofessional and dismissive, which made my experience quite uncomfortable. As a guest, I believe that courteous and attentive service is fundamental, especially after incurring additional charges.

My partner and I stayed at the Aerotel for our 10 hour layover. Here’s what we thought:

Positives: location is extremely convenient, easy to transfer to from the domestic airport using the shuttle or step off into from an international flights. Room was very clean and modern, small but all you could need for this type of stay.

Negatives: quite noisy, particularly if you are trying to sleep during the day after an overnight flight. In future I’d bring ear plugs or noise cancelling headphones to drown out the noise outside the room. The faint noise of people we could sleep through but the sound of doors opening and closing made it difficult to sleep.

Also, we were quite disappointed in the service. We booked our room weeks in advance noting our arrival flight and booking our room from 6am. We arrived to check in at 6:45am and were told our room would not be ready until after 7:30am. After a long night of delays and travel we did not want to wait to shower and lay down so we had to opt for single rooms instead of our booked double room, this may be not a huge inconvenience but difficult to understand how this would happen when everything was pre-planned.

I only stayed an overnight due to early morning flight. The location is super convenient. Why? It is right in the international terminal. The room is clean. The staff are friendly. But be aware there is not complimentary coffee or tea in the room, you need to go to the complimentary coffee & tea station to make it. It is not far from your room because there are only 15 rooms. So it is better to book a room in advance, otherwise you will need go for alternative.
However, I would highly recommend you to check the cost of the room rate and how much you actually paid for the room service. When I checked-in, the friendly concierge was telling me the room rate that I paid for the hotel was way lower than what the trip.com charged me. I immediately contacted the trip.com for an explanation and a refund for the difference. Dissatisfactory on trip.com decision because I have provided all details and relevant documents for them to refund the amount of the differences. They still rejected my refund, even the actual hotel system showing I only needed to paid the lower rate and the friendly concierge said trip.com should have charged me for the lower rate, especially I have booked the room way in advance with 20% off from the original price.
So I would recommend to book the room but if you have the option to paid at the check-in, then do it that way, so at least you would not have the same issue and experience I had. Also, I don’t think I will stay at any hotel accommodation or any services that offers by trip.com. This unsatisfied experience really made me think twice about this online service when I certainly been overcharged by the trip.com
Anyway good luck and hope you don’t experience what I have if you go with trip.com

5 big stars for LOCATION LOCATION.

Minus 1 star for AC that CANNOT be controlled with a room, and I was freezing all night.

Minus 3 stars for ZERO towels in my room. And there's no one at front desk till 700 in the morning.

The idea of hotel inside airport was excellent, however the execution was poor. Room was smaller than a household bathroom. Bed was hard as concrete. No window, all the bad air stuck inside the room. Obnoxious customer service. The staff was extremely condescending (specifically named Nick). We barely understood what he said. Talked in a bad manner and high pitched rude tone. Booked with a so called voucher but never received nor explained. Ordered a room service but turned down because it’s ‘too late’. The only good thing was the shower pressure, which was rare to find in sydney.

It's a bed and a shower. It's very useful for an afternoon/evening domestic flight in to catch a 6 am international flight out. It's nothing special but it's comfortable and serves its purpose well. The main thing is it's literally within the airport and it takes only moments and a trip up stairs to be at your check-in for international flights. The room is comfortable and basic, it's dark but the corridors and inconsiderate people can make it noisy.

Very helpful staff. Patient and knowledgeable. Great for a short stop if you have a different flight on the same day. Lounge is relaxing and showers are great!
