Former penitentiary now has contemporary vibes and a slick remodel. We flew in from New Zealand at 9am and they let us check in without a blink. It was awesome. They don’t have room service but the staff was super helpful and we got everything we needed I. Kind of a roundabout way. The gilding is super neat and photogenic. Indeed it will make its way into your favorite photos when you stay here even if you’re just passing through Melbourne. Its proximity to the airport is great as well making it convenient for business and short layovers Definitely recommend just for the front desk staff that made our super early check in so painless and smooth. That’s hospitality!

We had a lovely stay there in a georgeous apartment with different views and perspectives of the prison from our room.
These rooms have had a lot of thought put into their design, and it shows in all respects.

Great front of house staff and access to good local dining put this complex in an excellent location.

Underground parking is available for an extra fee, but it should be noted that it filled rapidly upon our visit and involves some tight vehicle manoeuvring in an S.U.V.

Probably one of the best hotels have stayed at in a while. Quiet. Comfortable. Perfect spot if you want to do the Pentridge Prison Tour. Plenty of car parks and easy access to restaurants etc. Price was incredibly reasonable for the quality of bedding, fittings, fixtures and amenities. 10 out of 10. Will definitely stay again.

What an amazing restoration inside the walls of this historical jail. The new unit building provides comfortable well appointed rooms. The old areas are photo worthy. Great way to revitalise this zone with shops and cafes and restaurants all attached.

I like that the hotel is built into the old prison and they've converted it into a bar, restaurant and function centre. The cells have been turned into cosy booths. It added the extra element of history and unique architecture that's been artfully incorporated in a modern and stylish way without destroying the history. I would have liked to have stayed longer to explore the this further.

Wow! I spent the night in an Australian prison. 🤣 And it was GREAT! Definitely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in Australia. My hotel room was a 2 Bed 2Bath apartment with a full kitchen and a balcony. Crazy. Great breakfast. A bit on the outskirts of Melbourne but very close to where my meeting was going to be. Such an interesting place.

The rooms were excellent but give breakfast a big miss!|The restaurant was not busy but the serving of our breakfasts was ridiculously slow. People who ordered after us were served before us. Nine of us ordered at the same time. One couple waited for at least half an hour and when their breakfast arrived it wasn’t what they ordered. Three coffees were served cold. The standard of food was ordinary and expensive. Avocado on toast with a small amount of bacon $29.00|You are kidding!! Another person had pancakes which were certainly not made in the kitchen. They had come out of a packet.|Do yourself a favour and have breakfast at a nearby cafe.
