The view was great from our room on the 8th floor. The staff were friendly and helpful. It’s an older hotel and there was a spate of break ins at the units facing the rear car park over New Year’s Eve. Breakfast was barely ok and considering we paid over $300 per night it wasn’t good enough. Three and a half stars over all.

it wasn’t even a day and i regret booking. my room card was not registering in the elevator so we do constantly have to get the lobbyist to swipe their card. the a/c does not work, there were no fans so we left the door open all night just for cold air and even so the other residents weren’t quiet until early morning so it was difficult getting sleep. the free wifi is absolutely terrible. the fridge will barely keep things cool. the showers and bathroom are nice, the toilet placement is a little crooked. did also smell someones smoking pot not far from our room.
the view of the esplanade is nice though.

overall i wouldn’t recommend this to a friend family or even a stranger.

Avoid. This place is not 4 star, its 2 star at a push. Just do yourself a favor and take it from a local - do NOT stay here. Its not just one thing is the whole vibe, just trust me. There are way better places to stay in Cairns for the same price or less.

I would highly NOT recommend. First put us in a room with 2 single beds, changed our room after complaining, our new room the power point to the television didn't work and was given an extension cord. discovered we only had 1 towel and no wine glasses. Ironing board but no iron. Staff do not answer the phone all the time, so had to go up and down from the 9th floor when things that should have been there weren't.|Only good thing, the beds were comfortable.

Zombie apocalypse. You know that movie where the world population has been wiped out and there are small pockets of 20 or so people stuck in a run down hotel where nothing works and all the zombies are trying to get in. Well this is that hotel. Complete with an old ducted swampy air con that hasn’t worked for a very long time and black mold that inhabits all of the hotel even coming through the carpet. The staff are rude but i do not blame them at all. In the short time we were at the reception they were bombarded with complaints from disgruntled customers one after another and these same people were trying to drag the rubbish down the elevator at 4 o’clock in the afternoon im sure they don’t get paid enough for all of that. If you’re down to your last 100 bucks go buy a tent from bcf and have a bath out in the bay with the crocs This would be a far better option than staying here

Curtains didn’t close fully so let a lot of light in. Sheets on bed crumpled, didn’t look freshly laundered. Group of people who were staying were out drinking around the cars in the car park, next morning there were empty bottles and the area smelled of urine, seemed like it may have been a regular occurrence. Was booked in for 2 nights but left after one and booked into a different hotel. Pay to read trip advisor for this hotel.
