The best thing about the Abode Kingston is the location, which really couldn’t be bettered. It is right next to a vibrant area of restaurants and shops - ideal, really. The hotel doesn’t do meals, but that is no loss as there are plenty of good places to go to just across the road.|The hotel itself is not much to write home about. The room was clean, but pretty basic. The water leeched out of the shower recess, saturating the shower mat. We stayed at the hotel for 2 nights, arriving in the early evening. The following day we went out and upon our return the room had not been cleaned. When I checked with reception I was told that they cleaned the room only every 3 days - so we were stuck with the soggy bathroom facilities. Staying at the Abode was by no means cheap, and in no way offered value for money.|Staff was fine but not terrifically warm and friendly. |In summary the hotel didn’t really deliver all that much. We’d stay in Kingston again as it is such a lively and interesting area, but would aim for a different hotel.

There was no one at the front desk at check in. It was 2:25pm, kinda an important time for all hands on deck. I called the number on the sign and a mobile rang behind the counter. We waited a while. I eventually called the switch board and basically cut my own key over the phone. Departing wasn’t much better. They took my key and we went to go down the elevator, which you can’t do without the key. I would think staff would be aware of that. We had to come back and ask to be let down. Not the most situationally aware staff. The room was oddly shaped and poorly designed. We couldn’t open cupboards because of furniture in the way. There was also no casting on the TV. I felt like I was staying in a hostel or student accommodation. Way overpriced for what it was. They need to lower their prices or pick up their game.

Professionally uniformed, highly trained staff checked us in, sorted out our luggage and assisted with Pantry purchases to calm the hunger pangs. Great range and selection too team. Pet friendly vibes were so welcoming by staff, manager and fellow guests that we allowed more time to interact with everyone. Highly recommend as its across the road from all things restaurant, bars, coffee and shopping! Recommend the Book Cow - just as an aside! X

Zero street parking available when we arrived around 6:00pm. Hotel charges $15 per day to park in their underground lot. Parking spaces are cramped. Our medium size SUV barely fit.

Stairwells are only operational in one direction (down) and guests must exit on the ground floor. Yikes. Hotel only has one small lift and it is frequently crowded.

WiFi is a complete nightmare. The following information is required:

1. Password
2. First name
3. Last name
4. Email address
5. Post code

I’m not from Australia, so I had no idea what to put for #5. As there was no phone in my room, I was forced to trudge my way back down to the front desk for assistance. The young woman cheerfully explained that I should enter “2606” in that field. Ok great. Then a highly concerning “Error 101” message pops up. Huh? I asked about this and she said “oh don’t worry, it’s actually connected.” Ummm…what? Massive fail for the technical team and definitely not a quality experience for your guests. Attn management team: why are you requiring people to enter their names and post codes? It makes no sense. Normal hotels just ask guests to enter a password. What a massive pain in the rear end!

A well priced apartment, clean well maintained room. Great location near restaurants and the lake. We cycled around the lakes using the Abode bikes.
Very nice friendly staff .

Great location for dinner out in Kingston. Parking reasonable & easy.
Room size is good; kitchenette was great.
Room was great value for comfort but needed to be renovated.

Location was excellent. Very clean and tidy. In the disability room, the toaster and kettle was stored up high. These are unable to be accessed by someone in a wheelchair!

Great location, easy walking distance to shops, cafes and restaurants. Parking was easy, service was great. If you hire a bike check tire pressure first.
