We are staying at the Abcot Inn and it’s great, our room is very big, also very big bathroom. A little out dated but it’s a nice place to stay & they have a pool which is fabulous!!!! They have a laundry you can use and a vending machine, ironing board in the room. The beds are so comfortable and the pillows are comfortable and clean, we sleep very well here!. My family and I will definitely come back!!!. The food in the area is awesome! The price is ok.

Very disappointing.
The room was dirty. Under the beds had rubbish and clothes from previous people also in the closest.
The shower had no water pressure it was either very hot or cold. Could not wash your hair with it.
No microwave to heat anything up.
Only good thing was the location, very handy to get around to Miranda and Cronulla.
The lady at the front desk was very helpful and polite.

This motel is one of only a few this end of metro Sydney. One is not exactly spoiled for affordable choices in the Shire. We chose the location to be close to a hospital where we needed to visit a friend.

The motel needs a serious overhaul. It needs repairs, replacement of furniture and furnishings and cleaning. It could be depressing to work somewhere like this (unless you just don't care) and the service was a bit lack lustre. Not outright rude but not overtly caring or customer focussed either. The place was packed out (Friday night) and full of cars stamped with the name of a big Rail contractor, so people are definitely staying there. I am guessing the rail boys pocket the rest of their allowance when they stay, or their company is cheap and won't given them enough money for somewhere different.

Check in - went into reception and two people there counting what looked like money. One glanced at me, did not change their expression, and continued to count. The other said nothing. At length, the one who had glanced decided to serve me.
Said they did not have my booking. Then said they did not have the 2 rooms I had booked. Said they had 1 room. I had a receipt for my prepayment of 2 adults and 2 rooms. 'Found' a second room and gave me the paperwork but it had a man's name on it and when I pointed this out they said yes, they had already given that room to someone.
The check in process took about 20 mins and I was eventually given 2 rooms. However they claimed the booking platform had only paid them for 1 room. They wanted my credit card in order to give me a 2nd room and said they would not charge it if the booking platform paid them. The paperwork for the 2nd room had a price about $60 more per night than what I had booked. I gave them a credit card I keep blocked so they could not have charged it without talking to me anyway. I was appalled. I had the payment receipt and they had looked at the receipt on my phone and took details. I said some things about NSW Fair Trading if they tried to charge me again.

I didn't see my friend's room but took pics of mine. Mould in the bathroom. Untouchable utensils / kettle / microwave etc. Rusty, stains, etc. Wet glass in the cupboard. Dirty cup. An old book on top of the wardrobe, all the pages turned up like it had been there for years. Milk pods strewn in the fridge, the freezer section of which was iced up. It had no racks in the door. Kitchen utensils and cleaning stuff in a mess on the counter. Stained chairs. Old phone + cords stuffed in the bedside table. Air con kept turning itself off and it was a very humid day, so not being able to cool the room was a real issue. Shower over a super deep bath and no anti-slip mat. Rusted garden furniture out the front of the room. My friend said her TV didn't turn on.

I called the booking platform that evening and they phoned the motel to sort out the room and payment issue. Turns out they had the 2nd room. It was under my friend's name even though the total payment was only in mine. Begs some questions. If my friend had gone in and tried to check in as she had originally planned mid afternoon, what would have happened? A booking but with no payment recorded? And, surely a motel knows to look for 2 names when there are 2 guests and 2 rooms. And, why didn't they just keep looking and asking questions to get to the answer? I had even emailed the motel the night before saying that my friend was likely to arrive before me - I had given them her name and included the booking platform itinerary number and noted that it was all paid. So they had the information they needed at their fingertips.

Fortunately we could leave our keys in a box when we left so we did not have to see anyone from the staff.

Plus side - they supplied motel biscuits. Linen was clean. Bed was comfy. Lights worked. Hot water worked.

This place could be transformed so easily. Consistent, deep cleaning could compensate for the age of the facility. And it would make the experience of it much brighter (for guests and staff). Pics are of my room as I found it.

We opted for a more expensive spa room. The condition of the bathroom was disgusting with many broken tiles, dirty/rusty bathroom cabinet handles and a spa that looked filthy. The spa fiberglass was cracked with numerous holes - surely un unsanitary condition. There was no way we would contemplate using it. The sofa bed in the room was in poor condition with worn through fabric in places. The stairs and walkway to the rooms were in dirty and poor condition - broken and missing tiles with a high level of dirt and mould. Filthy stair handrails. A dead, squashed baby bird remained in the middle of the walkway from before our Saturday arrival until our Monday departure. The sheets seemed clean but the room and bathroom looked and felt unclean. On checkout I requested a refund of the extra cost for the spa room, which was agreed to. We would not recommend this accommodation and would certainly not revisit.

Hands down the most unpleasant accommodation from any of my stays worldwide ! Photos attached to support my review. Needed a place to stay short term while having renovations done . Reception on check in was very short and unwelcoming. When we entered the first room the wet and cigarette smoke smell was overwhelming , bed sagging to the floor, chair dirty and ripped , plates n catlery unwashed in the sink ! i travelled extensively and never ever experienced anything this bad . We asked reception to please give us another family room which they did . It was marginally better until we spotted the pubic hair on the toilet seat of the black rimmed WC , the mold on the walls and shower the crusty cooktop with someone else’s crumbs the dust everywhere so bad that we only stayed one night as the smell was horrendous and i woke up in pain from the extremely hard mattress listening to the super noisy fridge all night. We slept on our lounge in the garage instead ! the bill was covered by insurance otherwise we would have asked for a refund. Absolutely horrible place . I normally don’t bother with reviews and do like to personally speak to a person to raise any issues, but I wouldn’t think in this case they cared .

Absolutely disgusting, had we not lived over an hour and a half away we would have driven home. Room had fluid marks throughout the room walls and there were cockroaches. Room was so dirty. Staff were lovely but the place itself was appalling. This rating isn’t even worth half a star! I hope something changes. Management- I have a video if you want me to send this through

When we first arrived the receptionist couldnt gain access to our kitchenette room. We were placed in another room which was pokie and filthy. The next morning we moved our gear into the other room which was just as dirty e.g mirrors and glass in shower all smeary, inside fridge grubby, small oven tray still had cheese on it, blanket on bed dirty (stained), no shower curtain on shower etc etc. We had a boat on ,Which they were informed about, and there really wasnt any room to park it. We were very nervy where we had to park it. Would not reccommend this motel.
