In order to visit Cradle Mountain we travelled to this place to stay overnight for a reasonable price but realized it was a mistake. It is about 45 minutes away from Cradle Mountain. Travel after sundown is no no. Large numbers of nocturnal animals on the road with potential vehicle damage. The accommodation overall was a rundown shak from the outside. And inside facilities are not great. Visitors to Cradle Mountain are better off paying the price for accommodation at CR.

Gorgeous location and absolutely amazing view. The nature vibe is really worth it!

So much potential for this place but needs lots of repairs. The cottages are a bit rundown but still cozy.

We had a good stay here, this place would be MUCH better than the Promised Land if it could be given some TLC.

Great place to stay!
It may be a bit old, but the countryside vibes are absolutely unmatched. You can spot animals right from the cabin—truly an experience of living in harmony with nature!

Easily found. Speccy views. Everything you need to cook or heat meals brought with you. Comfy beds and pillows and plenty of extra blankets to keep warm if you need them. We had a 3 brm cottage and there were ample lounges and arm chairs to relax in. Outdoor settings with bbq, and grassed area as well as flowers and tulips in season. For the kids or any city dweller the animal and birdlife there is great. 3 donkeys, 1 horse, cows, 2 highland cattle, ducks, chooks, as well as blue wrens, water hens, paddy melons that all hang around. For all the complaints on here, you get what you pay for and it is very affordable, it isnt the Ritz, it is a home away from home with added plus for the views and menagerie. Would def stay here again and enjoyed meeting the owners.

Staying at AAA Granary Accommodation near Sheffield in Tasmania was a fantastic experience that definitely deserves a five-star rating. The views of the mountains were spectacular, especially during sunset, and the wildlife, including Highland cattle, donkeys, and horses, added a great touch to the natural scenery.

The accommodation itself was comfortable and well-maintained, with all the necessary amenities to make our stay enjoyable. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made the experience even better. The photos we took during our stay truly capture the relaxing and beautiful environment we enjoyed.

If you’re looking for a great place to stay to enjoy Tasmania’s outdoors, with the added bonus of being close to some friendly farm animals, AAA Granary Accommodation is the place to go. It provided an excellent base for exploring the area and was a cozy place to come back to at the end of the day.

Great quiet location. The cabins are well separated from each other for privacy. The buildings are old but well looked after and as described. It was really cold while we were here and the heating was adequate which we appreciated. Sheffield is only 10 minutes away, so not far for food or groceries. All the pots and pans you need to cook your own food if you want. The host is friendly and informative. If you want a quiet time in the middle of Tasmania only a short drive to Cradle Mountain and Devonport, this is the place.

We stayed in the four bedroom house (just the two of us) for one night after exploring Cradle Mountain. The accommodation isn’t new or modern, but very clean and it has everything you need while travelling for a comfortable stay: fully equipped kitchen, laundry with dryer and it’s nice and roomy in a beautiful environment. No doubt a great place to stat longer with helpful hosts.
