Awesome location, and the check-in instructions were good. Overall the room was fine, but no bedside lamp? And like others' reviews, there was major mould in the bathroom and shower which had obviously been there a long while. It's a shame, it severely detracts from a great stay in a fantastic location.

Decent stay and good location. Toilet and shower were clean and in good condition. Some areas could do with a clean such as windows that had a lot of dust.

Also the TV browsing history needs deleting - there was some explicit content that a previous guest has forgotten to remove. Oops.

Mouldy bathroom (probably due to no shower screen), ancient spring mattresses that stab into you and creak constantly (yep - mattresses, the "king bed" is two separate singles pushed together with a sheet on top, nice ridge in the middle), uncomfortable couch, weird stains on the carpet and chair. No lamps so big ceiling light only, no powerpoint at the work desk (so don't assume you can get work done), the TV is set up so you can't watch it from the couch... all up just a miserable experience. Changed my accommodation after 1 night.

Apartments are a decent size and located close to many decent dining venues. Indian, Afghan, Korean, Japanese.
Here are a few things you need to know. There's no physical reception, keypad at entrance for access. Apartments are above the shops, and not wheelchair friendly. The apartment I stayed in had a glass door and light leaked past the blinds at night. I couldn't watch TV as the remote was missing a battery. The bed was well worn but it was clean.

This place was great to stay! Stayed for a week while in Newcastle for work. Excellent large, clean room. Good size clean bathroom. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything you needed. I got quite sick on day 3/4 of stay and wanted fresh bedding. Reservations/cleaners were so quick to help out and provided me with fresh linen ect.
Would highly recommend and will certainly stay again!

Absolutely awful 🙁 arrived late at night (late flight and long drive). Getting in the place was easy enough. NO ON-SITE PARKING.. street parking is 30mins or less so you’d have to constantly move your car (not ideal at all, unless you planned to be out all day). Got into the room and immediately noticed how unclean it was. Hair on the bed, greasy fingerprints on the cupboards and bench, finger marks and grime around all light switches, dirty utensils, freezer ice cube tray was littered with dirt/food, fridge handle looked like it hadn’t been wiped in months, the bathroom door gets caught on the tiles and you have to use extreme force to open and close it. The worst was the shower water pressure. The ‘rain shower’ head was on the side of the wall and dribbled out so slowly, you’d have no chance of actually showering. We thought ok we’ll give it a minute or so and it’ll improve, no matter how much we turned it on or waited, it stayed the same. The shampoo/conditioner/hand soap were all almost out and hadn’t been restocked. There was also mould EVERYWHERE in the shower, on the sink and the 1 little pulley curtain we had that was crowded by a layer of dust and crispy flies…|| I had contacted the place explaining these things and the initial email response from them was that they’re sorry for the inconvenience and will just let the staff know. Our ‘King’ bed was two singles pushed together with the edges so ridged you couldn’t cuddle you partner if you tried. The mattresses felt like they were from the 1990’s. extremely disappointed considering we paid for an ‘executive king studio room’ room and had it booked for 10 days.. we stayed the 1 night and left the next morning, booking elsewhere. ||When I called the following morning, the lady on the end of the phone was apologetic and helpful, she had me explain every issue and sounded surprised that it was in that condition. The cleaners either don’t care or don’t get paid enough/respected by the owners to care. I’ve never in my life, stayed at a place that has disappointed me as much as this place has, I’ve stayed in some questionable places but nowhere has made me and my partner feel so uneasy, uncomfortable and unsafe 🙁

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING SAVE YOUR MONEY. MOULD EVERYWHERE THIS PLACE HAS NOT BEEN CLEANED AT ALL. THE BEDS & PILLOWS ARE OLD AND FLAT, NOT TO MENTION ALSO UNCLEAN. KITCHEN IS UNCLEAN FULL OF GREASE. THE WORST STAY WE HAVE HAD.

The most woeful experience ever! We had a total of 6 rooms booked for a nearby event.
After a number of phone calls to obtain the access code one room was deemed to have a maintenance issue and unavailable.
One room was not made up from the previous occupants and we were advised housekeeping had gone home so it wouldn’t be done. Another appeared to be made up however had stains & hair in the bedding, mould everywhere in the bathroom and a toilet bowl that had not been cleaned.
We were offered to stay at another location 15 minutes away however this was not an option for the event we were attending. We had stayed at that property before and it is terrible also.
There was no communication about the outcome of our rooms and we had to source alternative accommodation for a number of guests. Absolutely no one on site to speak to.
Oh and the beds are ridiculous thread bare you can feel every spring.
Minus 5 stars. We will never stay with alloggio again.
