The only downside to my stay was trying to find the car park. I did call the hotel for assistance, however the first call was not answered and traffic in the area is not easy. Once in, an added benefit was the ability to come and go with the car which made exploring easy.
The room was exceptional - finally a hotel room built with an abundance of power points, lights that turn on and off from numerous points, a spacious bathroom and the ability to go green, reuse towels and save money. The room was stylishly appointed and the bed was beyond comfortable.
Located next door to the new metro station this hotel is my new favourite in Sydney.

I booked a One-Bedroom Balcony Suite for 3 nights 3 weeks in advance as brother and elderly mother were visiting from Melbourne and I wanted them to have separate sleeping rooms and amenities like a small kitchen and coffee machine to make their stay comfortable.

1. We used the self-check in screens in the morning which had an option to text you when your room is ready. We never received a text and had to wait till after 2PM to come back to the hotel to check in again.

2. We were issued our room card and actually had to enter the room to find out that they had downgraded our room to a small one with only one bed without notifying us.

3. We came down and only then did we get an email stating that they made a mistake and the room we had originally booked was unavailable. We were offered a $200 refund for the difference.

4. I checked Booking.com to find that there is actually a $250 difference between the room I had booked and the room they downgraded us to - the hotel Manager made me show him proof of my booking payment and the Bookings.com price as proof.

5. The room they downgraded us to had only one bed in it - they didn't bother checking if there were alternative rooms with separate beds until we insisted on it.

6. When we went to the new downgraded room we opened the door to find the cleaning staff still inside it.

7. A refund of the price difference is an entitlement and not a compensation for the inconvenience - if we had known the room type we wanted was unavailable in advance we would have booked somewhere else. Leaving it till check in to find out the mistake leaves us with no alternative but to stay the night with them with whatever they could offer us.

8. They said they were anticipating a cancellation for the room type we had originally booked but cannot confirm until later that evening - we were already at the hotel and checked in so why would you save the room for a booking that might not turn up instead of giving it to people who were already there?

9. When we pushed for compensation the manager offered us 2 free drinks at their bar or one free breakfast which seems disingenuous.

Really disappointed in the way everything was handled and will be advising all our friends and family to avoid Rydges in the future.

We stayed at the Rydges North Sydney for one and we couldn't fault it. The rooms are newly renovated the location is so close to public transport and there are food options galore just a few steps away from the hotel. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing stay at Rydges Sydney. The recent renovation made the rooms very nice and cozy. All the staff were amazing and genuinely cared for the guests. I would especially like to shout out Sujan at the front office—he was very kind and helpful. When we mentioned that it was our first time visiting Sydney/Australia, he gave us great recommendations for sightseeing. I would highly recommend Rydges North Sydney.

Really nice refurbished hotel for a very good value package - even better when the Rydges staff kindly looked after us in every way to make our celebratory occasion even more special. Thank you Rydges team, appreciate it.

Only thing this hotel missing are rooms with bath tubs and bath robes to really feel like a getaway escape.

We enjoyed our 2 day stay here.
Rooms, food & staff were excellent.
As in North Sydney, the location is perfect so close to ever so many cafes & restaurants & walking distance to most attractions, the metro & so much more ..highly recommend

The staff at this hotel gave me constant headaches. From the moment we self-checked in (half-heartedly assisted by a staff member at the front desk) to the following morning when a mangled garage door stopped us from leaving the undercover car park on time - the whole team seemed to offer up a shrug.
They gave the impression they'd do anything to avoid having to provide decent customer service.
It's a shame because the rooms have been reasonably nicely refurbished (with cheap furniture) and are clean. But the staff just don't seem to care about the guest experience and this outweighs any positives about the rooms and location.
After we left we found an unauthorised charge had been made to our credit card - and we're still jumping through hoops to try and fix it.
Update: Another staff stuff-up - the team refunded part of the unauthorised amount but still charged the full unauthorised amount. Still trying to remedy the situation.

Room type - two bed room balcony suite

Positive- Spacious. Microwave equipped.

Negative -
Terribly slow or no respond roomnservice.

No phone available to reach reception.

Number recognised car park never worked while staying, had to press intercom 10 times, still no respond. Reversed drive way and get to the reception to ask open garage door. Heard only one staff manage entire building on that day.

Very noisy from upstairs, to hear dragging chair noise and talking.

Room doesn cleaned properly ,as referred picture the white dots, under the couch as dirt always while staying.

No slippers provided

No free water

Clock can match the time only twice a day.

Curtain length are different.

Mis fire alarm at 6am in morning.

Toilet cover keep falling(for someone who doesn't want to see toilet bowl, uploaded plastic hose shower.)
