We stayed in apartment 331; the units are tired and need a refurbishment, fittings are worn, chipped & stained. The chair cushions were hiding a lot of food crumbs, peanuts etc. balcony needed sweeping, bathroom needs an update. The unit was not up to a 4 star premiere standard as advertised, gardens are nice with 2 pools and location is good.

Great steak and other all meals delicious. Owner/Manager very obliging and accomodating. Shows you don’t have to have a haughty front of house person as a requirement to be considered up market. Very knowledgeable owner. By far the best meal on the Southern Peninsula. Go here as often as I can. Be sure to check booking they do a lot of private stuff.

A mini refreshing break to celebrate the end of lockdown and to support local business at Portsea Village resort wasn't quite what we were expecting. We thought we would spoil ourselves with a 'five-star' experience. and so thought it worth the price tag.||||To cut a long story short we walked into an acrimonious split between management at the resort. First, we inadvertently booked with the group who met you at the door with the keys, not at reception as would normally take place. Strange we thought. I asked the receptionist for maps or local knowledge on walks but was told to google them. Rude I thought. The room was very outdated and dirty and was not up to the expected standard of a resort with a 5-star price tag. Couldn't get a change of room. Windows were dirty along with thick dirt on the sills. The couch was old, dirty, and faded. Outside couches were deeply stained. Only 1 bar stool in the apartment. We had to clean the chairs and table on one of the balconies before we could sit down.||||Day 2 There was a blocked sink in the apartment. in which we plunged with our hand to release the water and it wasn't pleasant with what we bought up in the sink so I went to reception to have this fixed and they gave me another number to call. After talking to the manager that I was told to call to their credit they had a plumber come and fix the sink. They 'sent' someone to clean while we were out. NO change. Next, if I wanted to use the pool and a towel it would cost me $25 dollars for the towel because we booked with the dark side it seems. ||||I contacted the apartment's office management who work offsite and discussed the room dissatisfaction and low level of service and the embarrassing moments of being shunned by the resort's reception as we were from 'that' room so they couldn't help us. They told me they wouldn't let it slide and would get back to me. NO contact from that point. So best to ask when booking who is going to be looking after you. Maybe the management that provides free pool towels. ||Reception pointed to the booking site for next time. There will be NO next time as their open conflict is toxic and their disregard for guests was flagrant from both parties. NOBODY wins. STAY AWAY!

I spent three days at the resort. What stood out for me was my dinning experience with Simon the restaurant owner. He went out of his way to make some exceptional meals. He did all the service himself and made sure all dinners had hot meals served on time. Simon also provides services outside the restaurant like birthdays or weddings. I would recommend you try him.
The resort is at a great sport, a few minutes walk to the pier, the beach, historical sites and the pubs. It's has good sized rooms that can accommodate big family or group.

Great room with a great bed and nice view. Ideal location, close to beaches, shops and a nice hotel. The attached restaurant was excellent too. BUT… no night staff!!! Some of our fellow guests decided that it would be good to start pumping out music at nightclub levels at around 11pm. No one answered the phone when we tried to report this, nor did they follow up. Police were called but could not gain access due to lack of staff in attendance and no other alternative bring available. I don’t feel safe going back with family and the lack of staff means people can get away with treating other guests with utter disregard. 😒
