I’m a local. Had dinner with my wife and 5 friends.I ordered the red curry. It was amazingly good. Groaning with scallops, prawns, mussels and pippies on a bed of rice. Reasonable wine list. Excellent service. Was once very average, now excellent.

Saturday night dinner experience - We ordered a pinot, no luck - out of stock. Ordered the mushroom entree - no more mushrooms. While the beef cheek mentions veg and mash, I believe three or four green beans cuts it as the veg. Even in the mussel dish was on the small size with empty shells - thank goodness for the two pieces of bread. Lovely staff, but the food did not equate to the price or value. I would recommend that serving staff advise patrons that the meals are on the smaller side so sides should be ordered. A tad disappointing for such a beautiful venue.

Stopped off at this majestic hotel whilst waiting for our ferry back to Sorrento. The interior is like stepping back in time and very grand. Looks absolutely stunning. We were told there was a rooftop bar and so decided this would be a nice place to spend a little time. The rooftop bar is pretty rudimentary to be honest but a great little place for a glass of wine whilst enjoying the great views. Service was basic but more than adequate and the staff were very friendly (good sized pours too!) Would definitely be interested in coming back and actually staying here in the future.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Vue Grand, firstly Kate was so accommodating and helpful which made for a very pleasant stay. The accommodation is rated at 3 star which I would give 3.5 star but when you experience the whole package and with the character of the hotel it was taking a step back in time. Definitely have a meal in the restaurant that was delicious & top class, the rooms with a balcony were best if you can. I would highly recommend & definitely return for another stay for the overall experience.

Second time staying in this beautiful building! We love the style of the rooms and the charming, grand feeling. Staff have been friendly, helpful and accommodating. Lovely clean rooms and ensuits with very comfortable beds. Dinner in the restaurant was perfect. The ladies were attentive and friendly. The food was amazing! We have eaten seafood from one end of great ocean road to the other on this trip. Our meals were cooked to perfection with flavours to compliment, showing our chef here knows absolutely what they're doing.
We really love it here. Definitely recommend .

It has always been on the bucket list, such a grand hotel with so much history, but up until now we had never gotten around to staying there. So we decided to sneak off for a night and see what the place was like. It is a stunning place with all the old charm still present. If only the walls could talk. Anyway we arrived, around 2.30 pm and parked in Hobson street right next to the hotel where there is no time limit.|Booked in and received a cheery/friendly welcome. We stayed in room 39 (on the first floor) which was overall fine (think we payed $210 for the night or thereabouts) Probably a bit over priced for what it is, but having said that I can understand the upkeep that would be required to keep the place looking good. The room was spacious enough for us, small telly but that was ok, bed was one of those made up of two beds joined together, comfy enough. The shower was good. Everything was clean and in good nick. Main problem we encountered unfortunately was it smelt like it had recently been painted. Not sure if it was just our room or also others on the first floor. But my wife has a serious lung disorder, and it really effected her. We ended up opening a window to try and get some fresh air in for the night. Which again was a bugger because it was a bloody cold night. I thought most paints now were odour free, but maybe not that sort for this type of place. We had dinner down in the restaurant and that was very nice. Lovely lady waitressing, explained all the meals. For the entree we settled on some duck spring rolls (3 for $20) and they were good. Mains were fish and chips for my missus and I had the Port Arlington Mussels, done in a peanut type broth, with a couple of toasted bread. Both meals were good and well worth the reasonable price. Luckily, we try and pay with that good old fashioned thing called cash, where ever we go, and it came in handy this time because the machine that takes the credit cards wasn't working, causing a bit of concern to the waitress. Overall we are very happy we have ticked it off the bucket list, but only downside was the paint smell unfortunately.

Our group of 11 ladies had a beautiful dinner on a Saturday night in the special tiled dining room with leadlight windows. We were able to choose from the Vue St Bar menu. The staff were very attentive, orders were served promptly and we enjoyed our delicious meals. Thank you for hosting our large group and making it such a special evening. The rooftop bar is also a great place for a drink on a nice evening with panoramic views of Queenscliff - note that it closes at 7pm.

5th time in staying in this old beauty. I swear we go just coz this hotel in it's day must have been fabulous. No b'fast offered in deal. Good job Salt Bush cafe is opposite.||Staff are underwhemingly cold and disinterested. Never stayed anywhere we've never been welcomed back. Even the rooftop bar is byob. Used to be open with bar service back in the day. Love Queenscliffe, looking forward to Hotel Queenscliffe opening later this year.
