A terrific motel in a perfect central location very close the Port of Sale, the Lake, botanical gardens and shopping. Lots of great places to eat close by. We were treated with friendliness from the first hello on the phone to our goodbye. The older style room was clean and the bed so comfy. Bathroom was renovated. The free daily breakfast was such a great start to the day. Will definitely be staying at the Matador again!

This is a great older style motel. Our room was clean, comfortable and of a generous size; the bed was excellent. The bathroom appeared to be recently renovated and we enjoyed our shower. Despite being nearly fully occupied on the day we visited, noise from adjoining units was minimal and not intrusive. While there was vehicle noise from the adjacent road when we arrived, this eased after 9pm and did not interfere with our sleep. We booked direct for a good deal and would be more than happy to stay here again.

Great hotel. Very comfortable beds and pillows and the room heater worked great, considering it got a little chilly at night.
The continental breakfast was very good with lots of choices and the fresh coffee was a great start to the day. I would thoroughly recommend the Matador.

We stayed just one night, It was the perfect stopover between Canberra and Melbourne!

Yes, it is an 'older style' motel, but that does not distract from the service and amenities provided. We appreciated the help and friendliness from reception and facilities in the room.

Loved out little weekend away here in sale. Staying at the matador motel.
Room was clean, spacious and comfortable. Along with a continental breakfast, the stay was 5 starts all round and we will be back. Thanks team

We had a totally amazing stay, originally had 9 nights booked, but ended up extending for another 2 nights.
Super friendly staff in all areas, from reception/breakfast buffet (breakfast with a vast variety of choice) & room attendants (the room was very clean & serviced daily).
Perfect central location, we were in walking distance to many restaurants, cafes, shops & Gippsland Art Gallery for example.
We were also excited to try the toiletries on offer, thank you for making us aware of these, environmentally friendly, such a great idea!! We didn't need to lug shampoo/conditioner/hand soap/body wash/body lotion, this was definitely an appreciated touch!!
100% to all involved, thank you for all that you do 🙂

Excellent room, lovely staff and well maintained. Great products for the bathroom. I was pleased to see that they used large format products, not disposable ones! Very very happy with the clean and comfortable room. Will definitely be staying here again when travelling.

Spotlessly clean hotel in a great location close to city but quiet nonetheless. Enjoyed the continental breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds.... oh, so comfy!
