We had planned this quick weekend getaway for a while and fortunately this went well - Clare and Tim are very welcoming hosts, proudly showing their labour of love in carefully restoring this grand old hotel. It is quite a sight to see, the depth of detail that they went to, from the stencilled walls, paint- and iron-work and even the consistency of the fixtures and furniture. ||Well done on achieving such impressive results!

Totally amazing. The work and effort by two people to transform a wreck into an amazing building and hotel. The level of authentic attention to detail is stunning. And a lovely Devonshire tea was served - we were a large group

So glad this old dame was bought and restored by Clare and Tim. So much work......Very comfy. Lounge with open fire and cat! Tea room, balcony (not ideal in June but would be glorious in warmer weather). The rooms are spacious and comfy. Large bathroom, with decent bath, and a basin set up higher than normal. Really liked that! Provisions included a large array of Twinings tea, coffee pod machine, coffee bags, and hot chocolate and Macaroons. Breakfast was a selection of cereals, juice, fresh fruit, assorted muesli bars, and the most yummy muffins I’ve had in a while. Fresh baked by Clare. The only criticism would be, that if one was at all shaky on one’s feet, the bath could be a problem.

Delightful hosts. Magnificent accomodation. A real treat to have stayed overnight to enjoy the ambience of this brilliantly restored 'home'.

Thornebridge at Murchison is an hotel restored over a period by the owners who have put their own money , work skills and time into a project which is worth not only seelng but hearing the trials and triumphs of the now owners. Two storied with a marvellous staircase with attached rooms this is an excellent chance to see a well restored once notable building of the North Central region straddling the Goulburn River.
