Had a pleasant brunch today, and it was better than expected! The place was busy, but we managed to grab a table without a reservation. We tried the chili omelette, Mexican, and lamb Benedict. The chili omelette was absolutely delicious and exceeded expectations. The lamb Benedict was good, but the Mexican dish was just average. The bacon and hash browns were good. Unfortunately, the coffee wasn’t that great. The portion sizes were pretty decent and very filling.

Service was fantastic, both ladies who served us were super friendly and cheerful. There was a public toilet just around the corner, which was convenient. The place allowed split bills but had a card surcharge.

I visited on a Sunday morning around 9am. It was not too crowded and I could secure a nice spot by the window. The vibe was cozy with a nice street view.

I ordered an extra hot latte which was delivered in less than 5 minutes. I was impressed by their quick service and friendly staff who frequently checked up on my experience. Also, the coffee was awesome.

There might have been a big improvement in the staff performance compared to recent feedback. This is my first time visiting this place.

I will definitely recommend The Public’s Corner and come back when I have a chance.

I have come here a few times but this time it was so disappointing. We ordered corn and zucchini fritters they were flavourless. We ordered grilled chicken breasts with salad and chips and it was okay!
Coffee was good!

Very bad experience, let me start:
Service: The girl who took our order was super clumsy. She dripped soda on our bags while putting on the table. Got the drinks order wrong at the very beginning.
Later, we ordered a steak sandwich, and i specifically said steak grilled sandwich. After 15 mins, she came back with a club sandwich.
Food: we ordered chicken mushroom pasta and a kebab plate. We found a hair on the second bite of the pasta (I should have taken a picture of it. I regret now). We gave it back and ordered a steak grilled sandwich. After 15 mins, they came with a club sandwich. When we said we ordered a different thing, she said this is a grilled sandwich. Their menu specifically have 2 different sandwich, maybe I added the word grill, but it was her responsibility to double confirm to get it correct. Lastly, after that, we said we do not want anything else, please cancle the order. The story is not finished here. They made an avo toast for some customer, and called for it for 10 mins, we all heard that. No one came to pick that up, then the girl came and offered the avo toast to us. That was really disgusting.
At last, They wanted to charge me for the pasta as well, I said I didn't have it, as I cancelled it. They said yes, but we offered you a sandwich and a toast. You did not take it. Why would I take something which I don't want to eat?
Honestly, it's the worst restaurant experience in Melbourne so far.
Bad hygiene, tastes average, price high and extremely bad service.... 👎

I just had the most fabulous dining experience at this restaurant! 😍 As a head chef in an Italian restaurant for over 4 years, I can confidently say that their mushroom and chicken risotto is exceptional. It takes a lot of skill to achieve the perfect texture, and they have truly mastered it. The risotto wasn't mushy or soupy like in many places; it had just the right consistency. Additionally, grilling the chicken before adding it to the rice adds a delightful smoky flavor that enhances the dish even more. As someone who has been cooking Italian food for a while, I'm not easily impressed, but this was beyond my expectations and one of the best risottos I've ever had. The steak sandwich was also outstanding. Keep up the amazing work, guys! Your culinary skills are truly commendable.

10/10 - I had a great experience at this cafe! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, and everything was clean and well-organized. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and made me feel right at home. Service was quick and efficient, and you could really tell they cared about the customers. I’ll definitely be coming back—such a lovely spot with even lovelier people! Would definitely recommend!

Went with colleagues couple of times for lunch. Love the pasta out here and tried out Burrito bowl yesterday. Large portions which we normally send up taking away haha. Lovely vibe, friendly staff, great food!
