The location is amazing.
The hosts very clear and concise communication, easy, hassle free check in and out.
Cleanliness and amenities are also amazing and the apartment is beautiful BUT do not book a ground floor apartment if you like sleep. The noise from people moving around upstairs is borderline torturous, it must be known as it is mentioned in the communication you get within the welcome pack and its on the fridge notice however its honestly people just going about normal business, we had children running around until all hours on the first night and started again at 7am and the second night was just normal activity and both were awful, we could hear the conversations they were having on loud speaker it is not ideal.
3 stars overall because I need my sleep, and I enjoy watching a movie or
the news without the sound of a herd of elephants above my head, call me crazy... but it was really that loud, if you don't mind the noise from upstairs you would easily give this place a 5.
As beautiful as the grounds are and as lovely as the hosts are if I was to return to Paynesville I would seek other accommodation if I could only book a ground floor apartment, upstairs was not an option as the stairs would be too much for my Mum and her dodgy knees.
Parking is also really questionable, although undercover the beams are in awkward positions, you need to pick if the front doors are obscured or the back but someone will be getting out before parking if your car is full.
Shower pressure is great.

Beautiful rooms, stunning views, but car parking was a nightmare, the parking bays were dark, and nearly impossible to see the posts at night, ended up driving in the wrong way and backing into the bay with about 10 manoeuvres, the passenger had to get out first because of the posts.
I will add the rooms are 10/10 but parking is 1/10

We had such a lovely stay at the Captain's cove Luxury Apartments! Having never been to Paynesville before we were delighted to find our location right next to the water, where I could easily drop in my SUP and lovely early morning walks along the boardwalk. The apartment was so comfortable and clean, well equipped for cooking, with very nice furnishings and we did get to enjoy the spa bath too. We will definitely stay here again when visiting family in nearby Bairnsdale. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Highly recommend these apartments for the perfect getaway. Incredibly comfortable and well appointed with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Spacious and perfectly clean (very new and modern). Comfortable beds and a great location. Hosts are friendly and very helpful if you need them. I’ll definitely be back!

The location was in perfect walking distance to nearby shops. The apartment was furnished beautifully and provided us everything we needed, however we were on the ground floor and you can hear upstairs walking around throughout the day and night very easily. The basketball courts are provided and we’re a great activity to do. My favourite part is that every apartment has their own jetty for their boat.
