Went to the Portarlington Mussell Featival and totally enjoyed the day.I have been in other years but this year seemed to be far bigger than previous years.Plenty to do to fill they day and the entertainment was great with the feature of the day being a Robbie Williams tribute act.He was fantastic. Already looking forward to next year's festival.

Amazing! Great layout and location, plenty of different food and drinks to try - they have all sorts of food there, not just seafood. Parking was quite good too despite it being a small town with heaps of people there on the day. Tim Tim the Clown was an absolute cracker too 👍 We'll be back next year!

Lovely location, a huge number of stalls available for food and drink. A lot of local goods!

I only managed to find 1 bin in the entire festival, ended up walking around with my rubbish for most of the time
No where to sit and zero shade, was with someone who can’t walk far and couldn’t stay long because of this. Ended up sitting in the cooking demonstration tent to get out of the sun

Was a good afternoon but probably best to give it a miss if travelling with someone who is unable to walk a lot or who has trouble standing for long periods

Traveled from 1.5hours to come and left quite disappointed, we were so excited to try many different mussels but could only find 2-3 stalls (out of 200) selling mussels and the lines were HUGE. A lot of distilleries and alcohol stalls and various gift type stalls which were good but we came for the mussels not a market. We felt like it was all very cramped and packed in, hard to get around, long queues, not a lot of shade or areas to sit down.
It needs to be held in a big open area with more space to navigate.
Entertainment / Music was good but left without even getting to try a mussel, went across the road to the Grand Hotel instead!
Wouldn’t go again.

I want to like this more. It’s a great place and getting the ferry from the city is great but …

Not enough shade. It was like an oven out there. Please put up sprinklers or more cabanas for people. The ones in the know park under the few trees available. Granted it could be cold and wet but we’ve known since a week ago it was going to hot.

Many ppl I spoke to said the same thing. The fact we are paying, albeit a small amount of money to enter means it should be possible to enjoy it.

Not enough bins.

Disappointing.

Great day out. Very well run. There was a huge amount of market and food stalls with music stages in different spots. The mussels rated delicious.

It has been several years since I've been to the mussel festival, and wasn't too sure what to expect today, but wow, considering it is all run by volunteers, I've got to congratulate everyone involved, well done guys, you have really stepped up from what it was a few years ago and the event is bigger and better than it has ever been in the last and you all do an amazing job.

I couldn't get over how many different food vans there were and it was great to see so many actually doing gluten free dishes.
I took my daughter and her friend today and whilst my daughter loves mussels, her friend does not, but that didn't matter as there were so many other things she could eat.
I remember a few years ago my wife said she didn't want to go cause she doesn't like mussels. Well next year I will definitely insist on her coming too cause, whilst it is called the mussel festival and of course they have mussel cooking demonstrations and plenty of places selling a variety of mussel dishes. There were more than enough places where you can get other stuff, none seafood related.
