Reception closed at 5:30 pm? Seriously? Called to book a room and was told they were already shut. No option for late check-in either. Ended up having to drive all the way to Hobart. Pretty disappointing for a motel—most places stay open later than that.

Loved this place. Mid-century meets Bollywood. Probably the quirkiest motel I’ve stayed in while wandering around Australia. Truly quirky, not wannabe studied quirky. Lovely staff, so helpful and cruisy. Lots of homely touches-comfy outdoor furniture, books to read, original artwork everywhere. Hot water pressure great, bed comfortable, lots of towels. Internet connection unsecured, but I have nothing to hide and not much in the bank so it didn't bother me. Otherwise just use your hotspot. A five minute walk to the Main Street. I thoroughly recommend this place and I hope to stay again one day. Oh, very reasonably priced too.

The title of this review pretty much says it all, really|Good points:|*I appreciate the overall 1970s ambience of the motel|*Good location|Room for improvements:|*The ironing board is dangerously defective and collapses without warning; on inspection, due to a broken mechanism|*Cracked washbasin|*Inadequate unsecured Wifi, which prevents access to essential websites such as the Bureau of Meteorology weather site|*Insufficient coffee and milk provided|*Provision of toiletries has not shifted from the plastics waste caused by miniature bottles of shampoo to wall-mounted refillables|*Obvious lowering of cleanliness and service standards since my last stay 2 years ago

I have stayed here many times over the last ten years. The rooms are very clean. The location is great and the new owners are very friendly, as were the old ones.

Great location, rooms aren't very hygienic, I'm sure we slept on somebody else's sheets, had a look at some art work on the walls that were unfortunately mouldy. Wouldn't pay that price to stay somewhere like this, alot of potential wrong leadership

We were recommended this quaint motel by a business owner in town, and were very pleased with the unit. It is aged, and whilst not to everyone's taste, the decor was "different". 1950's style, but immaculately clean and well prepared. An extremely comfortable bed, which enabled a great rest.
