Hadn't eaten here for a while, I had one of the dinner specials which was a 400gm lamb shank with mash and a tomato based sauce. Was disappointed as the lamb shank, whilst cooked well and of a good size, didn't have much flavour. The sauce was nice but there wasn't a lot of mash at all, definitely not a bed of mash, lucky to have been a table spoons worth, I would have been annoyed if they didn't have the buffet. Misso had steak and chips with a garlic sauce and it was nice and tasty, although she asked for medium and it came out rare. Tried the Buffet and everything I tried was very nice and tasty.

Hubby & I went for dinner Friday night at Midway Tavern. We both had Beef Snitzel, I had plain gravy & hubby likes the mushroom gravy. We had a table near the buffet, we could see when fresh vegetables came out. The carrots always seem like they should be cooked a bit longer but everything else was lovely. The bread rolls are so nice & hot so they are perfect. You always get plenty of chips on your plate. Overall we enjoyed a lovely meal.

Decided to go there for a pub meal on my birthday.
The worst experience in decades. The food was inedible, when I asked for a wedge of lemon with my oysters I was told to get it myself at the salad bar. The salad bar was absolutely awful, even the bread rolls were undercooked.

If you enjoy good food, give this place a miss. I will never set foot in this place again

This is one of the taverns that have brought back the salad and veg bar post covid. And it's amazing. I also had the Tuscan chicken, which was great. The staff were friendly and attentive to the customers. I'll be back. Great job to the kitchen staff. The best food out I've had for a while

Food came with no salads and no tartare sauce (ordered the lemon pepper squid) had to go up to the salad bar to get some. Chips tasted bland but the squid wasn’t bad.

The real joke was there was a fee for a takeaway container when I couldn’t finish my meal. This photo was the “free alternative” which was just a piece of tinfoil to wrap my food in. This is embarrassing.

Service excellent as usual, great staff very happy.

Food great as usual, veg bar great and always fresh.

3 stars for atmosphere as a few people had kids running around, staff shoukd have asked them to stop but didn't.
