My partner and I recently discovered Benbullen Camping, and it has quickly become one of our favourite getaway spots. Situated just a short 1 hour and 15 minutes' drive from Brisbane, it's the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.

What sets Benbullen apart is its commitment to maintaining a serene and uncrowded environment. The hosts clearly prioritise tranquility, ensuring that the property never becomes overpopulated. This is a rarity and a welcome change compared to some other campsites we've visited.

The requirement for visitors to be self-sufficient adds to the appeal of this hidden gem. It encourages a sense of independence and enhances the overall experience of being in this small piece of paradise. We appreciated the opportunity to truly disconnect and enjoy the beauty of nature without the distractions of modern life.

The perfect family bush getaway with its own waterfall & natural slippery slide is only 1hr 30mins from brisbane. We had the pleasure of meeting cows near the gate, followed by wonderful Katie & her family who then showed us through to our camping spot for the weekend. Past the flat green grass & tall gumtrees ( 1st camping ground - suited for caravans and 2wds) we crossed through 2 creek crossings (4wd access only) where camp ground 2 & 3 was along the creek. There were some steep rocky uphill driving which is achievable with sensible driving. We were lucky enough with our large sized group to have been spoiled with the last camp ground ( open field ) all to ourselves with the waterfall in walking distance. The kids and dogs spent all of their time exploring the creek and waterfall. We were so incredibly lucky to have this space to ourselves most of the weekend. Other campers will drive up to see the waterfall & have a dip. You have designated fire pits but no toilets/showers. You must be able to be self sufficient & take your rubbish with you. We floated in the deep holes of the creek and watched the sunset over the picturesque Ridge of the Cunningham gap. We also had the privilege of being invited to see the lookout from their home on top of the hill. The pictures do no justice to how mind blowing the view is. We can't wait to come back, Katie & her family were so inviting and their property had so much to offer! The best part is they informed us that they never over crowd & are very family & dog friendly. Thanks so much Katie We will be visiting again soon 😊

It was a pleasure to stay at Benbullen! We stayed over the Easter period last year with a large group and it was absolutely perfect! The kids had endless hours of fun exploring the creek as well as the adults and the Benbullen team were extremely accomodating and helpful during our 5 day stay. If you are a self contained camper, this is definitely a place to put on your list to visit. We can’t wait to get back here again.

Excellent pre-arrival communication with very clear instructions. Friendly, welcoming family complete with farm dog.
We were privileged to see a koala just after driving in the gate. Katie and her family led us to The Cascades camp area. After a few creek crossings requiring 4WD, we arrived at a beautiful, remote spot with mountain views, right next to the creek. It was perfect! So much room for our rowdy kids to run around and not another person in sight!
We will definitely be back 😍

Our family had a great time staying at Benbullen! We loved the amazing views and the kids had to much fun exploring and playing in the creek. Camping is always such a fun way to create family memories and what a beautiful place to do so!
