We have just returned from a two night stay at this hotel and I would simply not return. The room is very run down and the bathroom was not very clean at all. We did not get a good sleep either night due to other people slamming their doors or packing their cars (which I do understand is out of the hotel's control). I will say the breakfast in the morning was enjoyable and the staff was pleasant as a positive element. Normally I would expect to get what I pay for and considering we paid $120.00 per night I would at least expect a clean bathroom which we did not get. There are plenty of better places to stay in the area.

After reading some of the previous reviews was a bit hesitant about staying here, but I think some people expect the Hilton for a cheap price. No complaints at all. The room was clean, sheets were fresh, bed was comfy, all electricals in the room were working, and the included breakfast was a bonus. It had some nice sunny outdoor chairs where you could sit and read a book. It may not be walking distance to anything but then we came on a cycling holiday and the cycle path leading extensively in both directions was just across the road, so we were happy with that.

I stayed at the oasis in early December 2012. It was very hot and the air con didn't work. I was offered a small desk fan as a replacement. In the end I had to go out and buy a pedestal fan. The room was dirty, bathroom bordering on filthy, the shower head was broken and the toilet leaked. The room cost $130 per night. Had there been any vacancies elsewhere I would have left but due to a sporting event everywhere else was booked out. The bed was ridiculously uncomfortable with stained sheets and blankets. On departure I told reception that I was unhappy with the room and I wanted some of money back. I was given a $30 refund, they weren't apologetic at all, they didn't seem to care at all. I would have been better off sleeping in my car. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL!!!!!!!!!!

On arrival we were given the choice of 2 rooms (unsure why)... We chose the lower level. It wasnt as clean and fresh as the upper level room but safer for a little one. The aircon was blowing hot air, but functioning. The windows had no clips to lock nor did they have screens. We actually went to Kmart to purchase bamboo stakes for safety to keep windows closed.||||So for a few nights it was rather hot, no screens making it impossible to open a window. Then 6am one morning the aircon blew up! .. (Apparently the same had happened to the room next door according to the occupant we met)... We informed the desk, and waited as she said a maintanance man would be coming to repair the unit. About 9am we were very very hot... We asked again.. Promptly the receptionist asked us to gather our things and gave us keys to two rooms with an adjoining door. That was heaven, cold aircon and a much better maintained room. ||||I was so satisfied with the move and enjoyed the remaining days of our holiday. We occupied 3 rooms basically and 6 beds and had no itches or problems with bedding. ||||Honestly, the place needs to be updated. But we have no issues with cleanliness as we enjoyed returning to our freshly cleaned rooms. If the fittings are aged and tiles and rubbering in bathing areas require replacing, they are cleaning as best they can.|||| Perhaps carpet cleaning would help the mustiness of the larger room. ||||We saw pros and cons... I write this honestly so that you can consider them as well....||||Sure there is only a service station in walking distance.. But a few ks down to Warrawong and there are resturants and shopping.. ||||BBQs arent working, no problem... The opposite direction and head to Warrilla beach and its a much better place to bbq, swim and relax. ||||Yes, the lake out back of the motel isnt the most attractive waterview in the world.... But it is only a small part of the shore... A place to stay while you explore towards Warrilla and watch the boats and people fishing off the bridges and pier. :)||||My youngest son had fun chasing the rabbits that graze around the motel. ||||For the price, it is good value as there is so much within a short drive. Lets face it, you only need a place to crash. ||||We are returning there, because honestly for a family on a budget its cheap. ||||This time if the air con isnt functioning we will speak up straight of the bat though.. I did find the ladies at the desk polite enough..

Nice well run place on the lake. Has great views and very relaxing atmosphere. Staff are friendly and very professional. Resaurant and bar has gas faux wood fire making it a cosy and comfortable place to have dinner and drinks. The $4 glass of Merlot was enjoyable. Good value place with breakfast included in some rates. The new chef did well and all my meals over three nights were tasty and more than sufficient.

I hope this motel has improved from what it was like when we stayed there in late 2011. We were told that there would be no one in attendance in the office when we arrived mid Sunday afternoon and a key had been left for us in the laundry. The carpark was empty and covered in leaves but we were in for a bigger surprise when we opened our room door. The carpet was sticky and stained with alcohol. The bedlight glass covers were broken and hazardous and the bathroom sink leaked onto my feet when I ran the tap. From outside we could also see that the room next door was a mess and the beds had not been made up. We didn't need any encouragement to move on!

When I read the review titled βWorst motel in 30 years travelβ, I thought then author was probably expecting a bit much of a small motel. But after actually spending a night there, the review was spot on. ||||-There is absolutely nothing besides a petrol station in walking distance.||-Security chain on the door was broken.||-Behind the door was a huge stain where water had been leaking in.||-The carpet was very stained.||-The single bed was appalling. You could feel every single spring poking out of the mattress.||- When I turned on the aircon, the smell was damp and musty.||-The TV reception was terrible.||-The light in the bathroom did not work.||-There were cobwebs in the corner with daddy long legs living in them.||-The room smelt very bad. It was hard to sleep the smell was so bad. It was nauseating. It was like some sort of deodoriser had been used to block out the damp musty smell. ||-The hotel book thing stated that the restaurant opened at 6am for breakfast each morning. At 7am we were still waiting so we ended up driving to maccas. ||- Worst of all, when we come home at night there were cockroaches crawling all over the bedside table and in the bath room.||||||Definitely the worst motel I have ever stayed in.

I stay at the Oasis with my family for just one night. There was an awful stench in the room. The AC didn't work. The bathroom wasn't clean. The beds appeared to be clean and made up. In the morning after waking I was covered in red spots and itchy like crazy. I went to my GP later that day and was informed I had bed bug bites!! I was naturally mortified. I rang the Oasis only to be told by the receptionist that she was sorry but she was just a worker!!! Unbelievable! Never in my life have I felt so disgusted by someones behavior. I did not abuse the lady, I was simply expressing my concerns for future patrons. For her to deny responsibility for the situation was disgusting. I believe my fee's for the room contribute to her wages!! Do not stay at this "Oasis"......
