We spent a most enjoyable family Easter at Highball House. We had a group of 30. The venue is ideal for large groups for many reasons. With easy meal prep and happy kids you're laughing!
1. The Industrial Kitchen with multiple ovens, fridges, including drink fridge, sinks and dishwashers allowed the girls to socialise whilst preparing meals. The small free standing freezer was only just adequate.
The large outside tables between the bar b que and kitchen were always in use.
2. A large number of social spaces inside and around the exterior of the house allowed people to group / gather or retreat as needed. No congestion. The Fire Pit was a hit, plenty of firewood.
3. The kids had plenty to engage with. The large grassed areas saw soccer/footy games daily. The pool table, table tennis and badminton were also popular.
4. The internet was fast.
5. The large number of 3 person bedrooms were comfortable.
6. Brent was extremely accommodating rearranging his schedule to facilitate our requests. For Brent's flexibility with check in and check out times, we were most appreciative. Many thanks for all your efforts Brent!!

We had our wedding in the Highball house and it was the best decision! We had all our friends and family over for a whole weekend, with heaps of space for everyone to hang out. It was SO SO good! The house is perfect for hosting large groups, making sure everyone has its own space. The bar is great to hang out and the verandah can sit so many people. Unforgettable weekend. 💛

We had an amazing stay at Highball House for my sister's hens party. With over 30 people in our group, the house provided ample space for everyone to feel comfortable - the layout is great for large groups. The furniture and fittings are old, but there's plenty of character and uniqueness.

The kitchen was especially well-equipped, which was perfect for the big dinner party we hosted. We had everything we needed right at our fingertips!

A special shoutout to Brent, the property manager, who was super kind and helpful throughout our stay. He was always easy to reach and made sure we had everything we needed. I highly recommend Highball House for anyone looking to host a memorable gathering for a large group.

We loved our stay at Highball House, the house is so well-equipped and can fit such a large group without feeling crowded. Highlights were the dining hall, generous kitchen and separate bar/drinks area, pool table and lots of different lounge spaces (including kids lounge which the kids loved). Brent was great to deal with, very accommodating. Would highly recommend for big groups looking for a stay in the Highlands, while being close to Bundanoon town.

Highball House provided an unforgettable family retreat! This large house comfortably accommodated multiple families, with plenty of space for the kids to explore the beautiful grounds.

Its location within walking distance to the village was a bonus. The house was immaculately clean, well-maintained, and the hosts were terrific. We felt comfortable and at ease throughout our stay.

A highlight was a memorable dinner shared in the massive dining hall. We will definitely return.

• Dining table was fantastic, especially there was 19 of us, we had a great Christmas in July dinner and was perfect to be able to all sit together without being cramped.

• Endless amount of firewood was fantastic, the fires kept the living areas warm and toasty and we loved the fire pit area.

• Bedrooms were great, plenty of blankets and good heaters to just take the edge off without overheating you. Beds are really comfortable.

• the commercial dishwasher in the kitchen kept tripping the power, we had to take all of the dirty dishes around to the bar area to use that dishwasher, then bring it all back, a lot of double handling, was very problematic for a large group. The owner has informed me the dishwasher has now been replaced.

• Everything in the kitchen felt a bit grimy, we washed a lot up before using.

• The kitchen is very well catered for in terms of equipment, glasses, plates, cutlery etc., but there’s nowhere for you to put your groceries so everything was in bags on the floor which wasn’t ideal.

• Loungeroom furniture was uncomfortable, probably due the age and needing some repairs, seemed like the springs had gone out of everything and you felt like you were just about sitting on the floor. I did like the way it was in keeping with the era of the house, just wish it was comfortable to sit on.

• Bathrooms didn’t seem like they’d had an upgrade as was mentioned in a previous review a year ago.

• It’s an easy walk into town and to the lovely Bundanoon Hotel.

• Overall we had a great time at Highball House and would stay there again, maybe not in the dead of winter though.

We used this venue as a place for our family & friends to stay for our wedding weekend and it was amazing. They have so much space to cater to a big group, so many nooks and crannies for everyone to gather. They have everything you could possibly need to entertain including an industrial sized kitchen and all kitchenware. The garden is beautiful and the outdoor areas well thought out. We had an incredible time and the owner Brent was so helpful, quick to respond and genuinely welcoming. Highball was a beautiful part of our wedding experience, bringing all of our guests together not just for a few hours but the whole weekend. I couldn't recommend it enough!

We had an absolutely wonderful time here for my husband's 40th birthday. We had nearly 40 people staying (including 20 small children) and the space worked perfectly. So many different areas for people to hang out - but each one was really thoughtfully put together. The house managed to strike the perfect balance between being charming and luxurious, while also being lived in enough that parents weren't too stressed about kids breaking things. The bedrooms are quite spacious and where needed we easily fit families of four into a single room. Communication with the manager was really easy. Definitely recommend! I can't wait to return.
