Today showed me the exact reason why I’m leaving the hospitality industry very shortly. Don’t get me wrong, the food was amazing and the manager really made feel welcome, but I noticed that a couple of the waitresses weren’t having a good time. One of them was one the floor for a brief moment looking emotional and willing to give up (trust me I’ve been in her shoes plenty of times and felt deeply sorry for her). From what I saw today (despite being one of the more popular pubs in the Ettalong area, that the team really needed more hands on deck when it comes to the running the floor.

Nice atmosphere. The seafood was cooked well and accompaniments were delish. Value for money with possibly the best espresso martini I've had for their regular price of $16

Hats off to our chef tonight cooking our meal with his phone in his hand the whole time ? we where there for 45min and his hand didn't leave his phone once. Swipe up, swipe up cook some food swipe up , swipe up cook some more food ? the craziest thing I have ever seen dining out .

I’m a local, have visited The Ettalong Hotel twice now and unfortunately I have absolutely nothing good to review.

The food is below average, the drinks extremely expensive without the quality….and when I politely informed the staff of my thoughts, the staff member said, “Well that because it’s cheap” then walked away mid sentence.

Did I mention I paid $29 for a glass of Sav Blanc, a small/miniature bottle of the most vinegar tasting Prosecco which made me cringe with every sip & a bag of crisps…?

They are in a brilliant location and could offer so much more to entice people in.
For starters…. hire a chef, offer amazing meals, then reassess the quality of their alcohol.

Until this changes, I certainly won’t be returning nor recommending it to others.

I saw on the EH website $15 Lunch Deals Mon-Friday that $15 lunch menu deal included "Barramundi & salad".
I drove to hotel & went to order. Told that the menu had changed & where did I see it! So ordered "zuchini fritters". Accompanying salad was ok.
Fritters were oozing cooking oil & after leaving pub, gave me a stomach ache. Moreover a Schooner (not a pint) of craft beer cost a whopping $11.50.
Disappointed. Never again.

The food is a joke. We got the nachos and the crispy chicken. My Mrs said is this food recycled? That pretty much sums up the quality. Walk out feeling sick and 50$ poorer.
