The BOX on the Water - Ettalong Beach, New South Wales

What a spectacular Friday lunch. A few days away at Ettalong Beach, under three hours from home, which was a birthday surprise. We ate at The Box and everything was next level delicious. This rates as one of the top places we have been to for our traditional seafood lunch. The prawns were firm and sweet. The sardines on a bed of awesome tomato salsa and the Barramundi was presented beautifully and tasted even better than it looked. The staff were also lovely and extremely attentive without being over the top. Perfection.

We only visited the kiosk, not the restaurant.
Positioning is fantastic! Right on the beach with benches and other scattered chairs to enjoy the view from while eating or having a coffee.
The food from the kiosk was really good also especially the breakfast burger.
Coffee was average but nice.

The restaurant menu looks really good, and we will definitely be back to experience the restaurant itself.

The box is my new favourite place to go for special lunches, elongated afternoons, and fine dining. Saturday was a magnificent day. They had the windows all opened in a sophisticated way. The food was scrumptious every detail was perfect. Importantly, the kind man who was serving us, was consistent and friendly and approachable And was able to anticipate my needs. I’m very happy about that. Thank you for a memorable day I’m sure we will be back.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Box on the Water. The service was top-notch, with great banter that made us feel relaxed after a slightly stressful morning. The Bloody Mary was excellent—one of the best I’ve had in a long time. We really appreciated the staff asking how spicy we wanted it. Definitely shows that extra level of service.
We sampled a mixture of the oysters, the duck liver pate, and focaccia, all of which were delicious, uniquely prepared, and beautifully plated. We ended our meal with a chocolate Basque cheesecake, a muscat, and white possum amaretto. Yum!
This was the perfect way to spend an afternoon in this gorgeous little town. Highly recommend visiting and spoiling yourself a little.

Situated on the Ettalong Beach Waterfront Reserve, The Esplanade, Ettalong Beach, New South Wales, Australia . A fantastic little cafe directly on the water with stunning views stretching across Broken Bay to Box Head. Seems to be very popular with the locals as there seemed to quite a few here. It’s a dog friendly kiosk and quite a few people seemed to take advantage of this. The staff seemed to be very friendly and accommodating and the prices are very reasonable. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxing. The food is very nice. We were here for breakfast so we ate at the kiosk, sitting on the outside tables but there is an indoor restaurant also.

Beautiful views lovely chilled wine and fabulous food. Our server was very attentive and the food was really delicious It's so wonderful how this whole are has changed over the past decade. What an absolutely beautiful place to go. After lunch you can have a little walk on the beach or just sit and watch the boats go by. Views all the way down to lion island and beyond

Great location right on the water. We had the grazing box set menu. All the food was delicious and the courses were well paced. The cocktails were great too. The service was good, staff were capable and friendly. They have a mirror on the wall so my sister on the table facing the wall still got a great view of the water.
