Many reviewers praise the cafe for having the best flat white in town, and the menu is considered pretty good. However, the coffee is the main reason for visiting, and the atmosphere is often described as cozy and trendy.

Some reviewers also appreciate the convenient options for takeaway, dine-in, and delivery, making it a great spot for both locals and tourists.

Overall, One Picket Fence is a popular spot for both breakfast and lunch, and its wheelchair-accessible features make it a great option for those with mobility issues.

Newy is blessed with so many fantastic cafes but this is still my strong favourite for the best flat white in town. The menu is pretty good but I’m mostly here for the coffee.

We had the Eggs Benedict and the mushroom toast. I added scrambled eggs to the mushroom toast and it was an extra $5. This made my meal $21 which is ok, I guess, but the portion size was tiny. One slice of bread, two mushrooms and a couple of spinach leaves just wasn't enough for me. The coffee was fine and the eggs and hollandaise sauce was good too. It's a good location, if you're looking for a spot close to the museum too.

Found this cafe five years ago when visiting Newy, it’s great to see it’s still going strong and as delicious as ever. Fresh produce, tasty meals and the coffee is fantastic. The staff are always attentive and friendly. I would be here all the time if I was a local.

Ordered eggs on sourdough and added avo, chorizo on the side. Eggs not runny enough. It was almost hard boiled. Avocado sliced very thick. I think I chose a menu that hardly failed but it was pretty disappointing. Coffee so so. But cappuccino should have more foam than flatwhite.

A nice little cafe in Newcastle. The eggs Benedict was spot on and the avocado toast was good as well, although the yoghurt dip was a bit salty for my liking. Service was good and ambiance was nice. Recommend!

Popped in here for a quick brekkie & coffee. Simple food but done with great quality ingredients & the coffee was pleasant. It was the perfect quiet spot for us to start our day in.

Not bad...but very expensive!! $24 for a big breakfast. $10 for 2 eggs and One piece of sourdough toast. And $13 for an egg and bacon roll!!

Food was good and tasty. Was very cold inside though.
