Bernie’s Bar is hands down the best bar around!
Every time we go, we have an absolute blast. The music is always on point, the events are a vibe, and the atmosphere is just electric. The staff are some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet – they really make you feel welcome.

The cocktails? Incredible. The shot bar? Dangerous in the best way possible!

A wonderful local bar for the LGBTQ+ community. The staff are always great, and I love the murals and artwork throughout the place. There is a nice selection of food and drinks, all reasonably priced. There is a wonderful range of events hosted here, I would suggest checking out what is on, as this will impact the crowd and vibe of the night. Though, I have always found everyone very welcoming.

We had a great night out playing Drag Trivia. Good questions, good crowd interactions & nice drinks, non alcoholic & regular alcohol. Good variety of beers & cocktails. Food was quick to come out & very tasty especially the Churros for dessert

Well, I've only been once, and the actual bar was closed for a life drawing class.

As soon as I saw that free feminine hygiene products were in the bathrooms for use, I was sold. Its a strongly held belief of mine that they should be free for all those who need them as part of daily life. I've never seen that, and I worked hospo for 20 years.

Hands down the best venue I've been to, and it wasn't even open.

Bernie’s Bar is a highly-inclusive, LGBTQ+ friendly, environment, with an amazing atmosphere of warmth and fun. Some of my best nights of 2025 have started at Bernie’s. Their Long Island is delicious, beautifully garnished, and generous in size. I’d recommend anyone looking for a fun night out, to come here and spread positivity and joy.

We stumbled upon this place one weekend in Newcastle, it was apparently their birthday weekend. When we asked why the line up, what was the event, we were met with such attitude from some dude at the door, that seems so full of self importance, thinking he was running Studio 54! To make matters more annoying they were intentionally holding the line to make the club look more busy from the street, when there was hardly anyone inside. We were prepared to wait, until we were met with the attitude, I would not recommend.

I would recommend this bar to all adults! Absolutely friendly staff and kind atmosphere! I have never felt so safe in a bar. If you ever get the chance, it's a must go when you're out and about.
