Check in took about us about 20 mins while the other guy on reception managed to check in 4 other guest during this time. Got to our room only to find the privacy curtain missing (shower is right beside the bed) had to go down to reception and they moved us to a new room. Rooms are very tiny. Breakfast was very basic. It is in a great location but would rather pay more to stay somewhere nicer.

I will be honest: I booked this hotel thinking it’s the ibis hotel, the one right next to the station which I have stayed in before. So I had a rude shock when I realised it wasn’t.||The pros: |I had a family issue that I need to head up to Sydney for, so luckily I had a room. Needed one just for the night. ||If you just need a place to sleep, this is ok. No bells and whistles. There’s vending machine downstairs and maccas not too far away, so you’re not hurting for drinks and food.||Room was neat, bed was clean. That was all. ||The cons:||Oh boy. So I checked in very late, and you would think for a few hours, I shouldn’t have any issues. Incorrect.||Toilet was very small, so it was hard to manoeuvre, especially if you’re a bigger person. ||Front desk is often empty. From before I arrive, when I tried to call and no one picked up, to when I was there trying to check in, there’s often no one and there’s a wait. While I have no issues with that, there was a guy who desperately needed help but he was disabled and therefore out of range from the CCTV where I think they were trying to monitor the front desk. I had to help him wave at the cctv. ||It is a fair walk from the station, so if you have lots of luggage, I would advise that you conserve some energy for the walk or uber it. ||The shower was not well ventilated, so steam kept flowing out. I was surprised that it didn’t set off any alarms so… is the alarm working? And honestly, the way the room is set up, it’s not particularly great to have an open shower the way it’s set up. ||Room was relatively run down, where shower was leaking into the room floor. There were masking tapes in sections of the room. ||Pretty sure breakfast was 6.30am on the website when I looked, but was written 7am when I got there. I already paid for breakfast but could not stay as my trip back to Canberra is at 8. Such a waste of money.||If I had to stay for more than one night, I had be changing back to my usual ibis.

What one expects from a budget hotel were mostly there, basic amenities etc. Biggest negative was not being able to access WiFi in the room. Was fine in the lobby and corridors, but once in the room no connection. Mentioned to front desk, said they'd look into it but nothing changed during the duration of the stay.

Although the location is excellent, the air condition was extremely noisy. We had to turn it off to get some peace and quiet!

Our rooms were not ready by 2pm. So they assigned another time 2 rooms to us. We waited for our rooms for about 30 minutes.

I stayed for one night on a business visit. I was attending an exhibition at the nearby showgrounds. The hotel is a short walk from the train station also. The room was clean and comfortable. I also appreciate being allowed to check in early and getting an upgrade to a higher category room.

I stay here for a concert. The price is normally $115 per night. I had to pay $568!!! While the bed was comfortable the rest was disgusting. The shower and sink was in the room with the bed. Thankfully the toilet was in a tiny room but the door didn’t shut. |The “bedside tables” were filthy as was the bench, which was hanging off the wall at an odd angle. |Never ever staying in one of these again.

Staff were nice and the hotel is easy to find with the option to pay for secure parking which is good. However, the building seems to have a big problem with lack of air flow. We were on the 6th floor and the air was horrid. The windows do not open and there are no extraction fans. The mattresses are thin foam with a plastic cover. If you need any kind of back support to sleep, don’t stay here. While the linen was clean the room was in need of a scrubbing, especially the floor. Yes, it was cost effective but it was not pleasant at all. Maybe it will improve in time?

I found the somewhat negative reviews about this place unjustified. The staff were courteous and efficient. The room was clean and functional. The breakfast was simple and fresh. Basically everything you’d want in a budget hotel. I’d happily stay again
