Decided to be productive today and drive 50 minutes and stumbled apon this beautiful cafe. For it being 7am it’s crazy to me how happy and cheerful the staff were. I am a very picker eater and definitely got a fright by the amount of figs I saw on the dish I ordered but oh how I was so wrong to be scared as they were so delicious. Never have I enjoyed a bruchetta so much ( I definitely recommend). If you want a good way to start a morning this place is it 😊

We nabbed a decent table on the roadside verandah at The South Freo Continental late on what was clearly a busy Saturday morning for the team.

The drinks and food were served quickly and efficiently, our party opting for a chicken satay burger “very nice 👍🏽” the Angry Birds (fried chicken) waffle “tasty but stingy on the chilli and coriander 🫣” and the egg Caesar salad with added crispy bacon “needs flaked not finely grated Parmesan and some black olives - oh, and maybe an option to add anchovies too 😂”

Portion sizes were good and the food was served fresh and hot and our accompanying juices were refreshing albeit a bit pricey.

One small observation, on a very hot and sunny day it would have been an idea to have had the wall mounted fans on to circulate the air as it was all a bit still and therefore somewhat uncomfortable under the canopy, but all told we had an enjoyable meal and our overall experience was a positive one.

I love this place! A lot of effort goes into the food when they could just rest of their prime location. Highly recommend the waffles sweet or savoury. Great chai as well.

Since the south Freo continental introduced an al fresco pizza oven, this place is a must for foodies. Brilliant traditional pizza with great sides. It’s byo, dog friendly and the staff just awesome!
Order the Brontë and meet lovers… the best!

This institution in South Freo has been part of the Italian Noto family for decades. Over this century it has morphed from being a fruit & veg shop to a cafe. Starting small & expanding to now being open for pizzas in the evenings Thursdays to Mondays 5pm - 9pm.
The food is delicious, generous portions and great prices. Find a place to sit inside or outside and then order at the counter and pay. You don’t have to wait too long to get served.

Grilled chicken salad is good but the Nasi goreng is highly salty. It's a big place catering for many customers but there is only one cubicle for an unisex toilet!
