Absolutely beautiful place. No question about that. But the cottages are very dated on the inside and the owner is not a good host. Well, he was at first.

Before I moved in for the two month period, I checked with him to make sure that I could have my boyfriend and maximum a couple of friends over from time to time. On one occasion, my boyfriend was walking with one of our friends around the lake and the owner accosted them, saying they weren’t allowed to walk on the property. He said that the two of them looked dodgy.

Even after explaining that they were friends with me, a resident, the owner still continued to talk down to my guests. I intervened and pleaded with him to be reasonable but he wouldn’t. He had met my boyfriend twice when I signed the documents initially so there was no justification for this behaviour. My boyfriend is very well presented and gentle.

Absolutely inappropriate. I left shortly after.

I am absolutely appalled by the attitude of the owner, and the state of some of our rooms. We went to celebrate my dads 60th birthday, booked out the entire place. So you would expect all rooms to be cleaned and fridges and hot water to be turned on prior to getting there. We had to turn our fridge on which made our food go warm by the time the fridge had cooled down, I had an unexpectedly freezing shower because the hot water hadn't been turned on. Went to cook dinner and the cupboards and counter tops were covered in ants. The only good thing about this place is the view and the lovely Elizabethen village pub just down the street. At the Elizabethen village we had a fairly large booking of 15 people and the service was outstanding. The food was great came out nice and quick, very friendly staff and go all out for their theme nights. To sum things up if you are looking for a relaxing weekend away I would NOT recommend the lakeside country resort bedfordale simply because of the attitude the owner had given us. If you are in the business of trying to gain guests I suggest you go take a course in customer service because you need to learn how to talk to people in an appropriate manner. You have left a lot of people with nothing nice to say about your "resort"

we went there for the weekend at a family wedding . It was a cute little place , wasn't really set up for weddings but since it was a family wedding we had fun all the same.
