Knew it was on the cheaper side and we weren't expecting too much for the price. It absolutely exceeded our expectations. It's in a perfect location. It's very clean. Great hosts. Very spacious room. Yes it's older, but honestly, it's great. Beds are comfortable. We ate lunch and dinner in the pub and they were both 5stars. It included breakfast which was also great. I cannot recommend Econo Lodge highly enough. Definitely great value for money. I've stayed in newer places that cost a lot more and weren't anywhere near as good. We highly recommend this Econo Lodge. Thanks guys. We had an awesome time and we will be back again.

Not many people staying at the motel so we were spoilt with a cooked breakfast. Was yummy and good coffee. The continental brekkie is always good too. Room comfy. Good location. Very thin walls though as we could hear the people in the next room talking easily. Despite this would definitely stay again.

Having booked this motel as a last minute trip & at the budget end of the scale, I was surprised that the motel was actually very good. Yes, the rooms are older, however are clean and comfortable. The location is opposite the waterfront and a short 5 minute stroll gets you into the middle of the city centre.||||The arrival was after standard check-in, however I was met by the duty manager who was friendly, and informative. ||||This is a place that I would book again without any hesitation and is actually better than some of the "upmarket" locations in the town!

We stayed at Econo Lodge - Portland, during the Easter weekend for 4 days. At first glance even though it has a bit of an aged look on the outside, the room and the bathroom have been renovated. It was very clean and comfortable.
The staff is very friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. We had a problem with the Hot water and the shower. I informed the Evening Shift Staff member around 9pm. I didn’t expect she would attend to it till the next morning. But to my surprise she came with a handyman within 10 minutes and got it fixed.

Fantastic location in town close to the water. Friendly professional staff. The receptionist was welcoming and helpful. Motel style rooms at the back of Macs Hotel an amazing old pub. The room was Clean with comfortable beds with great linen. Good strong shower. The free continental buffet breakfast in the pub dining room was sensational. You could pay extra for cooked breaky but there was no need. We will stay here again each time we are in town. Value for money.

The noise from the hotel, Music/Band played to about 1pm, Bottles from Hotel emptied into skip every 45mins, having to tell the young's ones in couple rooms down to be quite at 2:30am plus the light fitting above bed leaking on my wife when it rained. no sleep had Staff at checkout didn't care. we had a 3-night booking and checked out at 11am next morning. Free breakfast was the only good thing.

This is a dump. Simply don't waste your time or money. it is a very old and basic motel that hasn't seen any maintenance for many many years. Dirty and well worn. Not much in our room was clean or in good working order. we had noisy party/drinkers next door. we tried to ring reception about the noise at midnight. the room had a guest service directory with a reception number. funny thing is there was no phone in the room to use. brilliant!! we used our mobile phone. half an hour later the party was still going.||this is my home town and i knew the place wasn't a four star place. sure wasn't.
