We stayed at Portland Bay Lodge with a large group for the long weekend. This was our second stay there and it was perfect.

Thanks to Dean for his hospitality. They really made us feel welcome. The facilities are clean and there’s a great, relaxing atmosphere. The kids enjoyed the activities like the games room, basketball court and the sandpit. They were disappointed when we had to go home. We will definitely be back again soon.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time there had a family group of 46 for a surprise birthday labour weekend. Everything at our finger tips. Plenty things to do for kids all ages even had a koala visit us at the bomb fire. No noise control cherry on top as we from NZ we are very loud 😁. Food catered by Dean and his family well worth money spent. YUMMY food. Great hospitality easy going owners Thank you so much for having my crazy family for the weekend was an amazing and memorable event.

We stayed at Portland Bay Lodge for the long weekend with a large group. It's a very private location. The grass land is huge and flat, perfect for a lot of activities. Just be careful of some rabbit holes! Remember to bring your own activities equipment. Kitchen and dining room are well equipped. Bedrooms are small but good enough. Kudos to Dean for being very helpful. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you!

We stayed there as a group of near 100 people during the Christmas.
I don't recommend it for a place to stay.

Rooms are very old, many fly screen were broken .

Toilets were too dirty, with no proper air ventilation that keep the smell.

Kitchen oven are too dirty and greasy.
It was very hard to ignite and keep the flame on.

There were several electric kettle but only one of them working.

Even the so called beach volleyball ground doesn't have a healthy net.

In general , my honest advise to manager/owner...is that place needs a proper renovation and repair whilst there are hard working people working there.

Spent a week here with a group of friends. If you are looking for a 5 star accommodation place this is not for you. As is advertised its a place for large groups and school camps to go to, with space to sleep around 100 people. Kitchen is on the older side, but did everything that we needed it to do, and there was plenty of refrigeration space with a walk in cold room. all in all its a very nice place to stay, just expect what you would for a school camp, and not a luxury resort.

Portland Bay Lodge is in an amazingly beautiful location - right opposite the beach. The views from the recreation lounge are spectacular!

All facilities are exceptionally clean, and well maintained, and very comfortable.

Your hosts Dean and Margaret are incredibly hospitable - nothing is too much trouble for them.

I highly recommend staying at Portland Bay Lodge!

We tend to get so involved with our daily lives and sometimes forget to unwind. Portland Bay Lodge was the Perfect place to catch up with family and friends who we don’t see to often.
All in one location and enjoying the atmosphere and each others company with the fire brewing the the centre and the ocean a stone throw away. Priceless memories.
Plenty of fishing, walking and biking.

What a fantastic place to stay. We visited for a weekend getaway with some family and friends. It was very clean, facilities were excellent and the staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. Our kids had so much fun playing in the games room, the sandpit and exploring the huge property.
We would definitely recommend this place to stay and we will be back!
