We recently stayed in one of the smaller cabins. It was cosy and charming. The setting was fabulous, peaceful and rejuvenating. It was a great experience to use the gas lights, cook on the wood stove and keep stoking the fire ! Lots of great bird life and wild life. I was even lucky enough to see a Lyre Bird. It was great that doggies are welcome too. Just remember to bring everything you need as it is a bit of a drive to get supplies and once you get up to the cabin and pop the fire on its a bit hard to get off the comfy couches.

Love that the place is pet friendly! We stayed for three nights and it was the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday we've had in a while. One of the best things was being able to let the dog outside off-leash and play to his heart's content without having to worry.

Chopping firewood and making fires is also pretty fun to do if you're from the suburbs and don't get many chances to do that often.

We were lucky to have amazing clear weather the whole time, and the night sky was absolutely stunning.

Great walking options (with dogs) available nearby, so this really is the complete package.

What an absolute soul soothing weekend we had. My husband and I lodged in cabin 1, named Goanna which is the oldest and first built. The rustic wood, fire place, gas lighting and antique wood stove made us believe we were living in the pioneer era. We loved it. We cooked roasts both nights on the stove and I tell ya...probably the best ever!!! With no electricity the nights were romantic with only the fire place and a few tea light candles (we brought) to light our lounge room. Our dog had the best seat in the house, bed right next to the fire heath all day and all night. Beds a quite comfortable. Bird life is abundant with currawongs galore and a bowerbird 💜 around 4am in the morning when I was out on the balcony getting more firewood I was blessed to see a wombat walking by our cabin. I didn’t want to go home!!! Donella we certainly will be back. You have a wonderful oasis in the bush and we thank you for the experience.

We stayed in Wombat Cabin. A beautiful stone and timber cabin in the mountains. Surrounded by native bushland in a peaceful location this cabin has all you need for an off-grid, calming stay. There is no electricity, everything operates on gas - lighting, fridge and cooking. There is a wonderful open fireplace with plenty of timber supplied. We loved our overnight stay here! The owners went out of their way to help us with our last minute check-in and provided linens and friendly advice on locating and using the cabin. It is pet-friendly, so our dog was totally welcome. The only very small negative - water pressure is light so the shower was a bit of a trickle.

Happy Campers here. Kids had a great time exploring and loved that we could take our dog so we didn't have to leave her at home. Cabins were in a lovely secluded location, clean and had all the bare essentials we needed. Perfect for a family weekend getaway.

Me and my 4 boys and dog stayed here for two nights, such a peaceful place and the cabins are just wonderful. Plenty of space and a beautiful big open fire. Ample land for the boys to explore and an outside fire too. Donella was wonderful and even arranged for my laundry to be sent to me as i left it behind (long story) We will be back!

had a wonderful experience with my partner and dog which is a bonus to have your dog stay with you as most cabins and even camping spots dont allow dogs. Donella is very friendly and welcoming of guests and super easy to deal with! ||||the location is amazing in wombat valley with no noise only the sound of birds and the sound of a well lit fire!||||perfect if you want to get away from the city and spend quiet time with your family or even a group of friends!

This was our collection point for a two day trip up and around the area while undertaking 4 wheel driving from Dargo to Licola.||It is a nice quiet spot nestled in amonst the tree and the scrub. We had cabin 1 which is situated in very close proximity to cabin 2- so you need to be a bit mindful of your activities, especially later in the evenings.||The cabins are lovely. genuine, rustic, sparse, and just what you want as part of that experience.||There was ample fire wood at the side of the cabin and good instructions on how to use the other amenities.||We actually go good phone reception and good internet coverage which surprised us.||we enjoyed the stay.||The mattresses were nice and comfortable and the room heated up nicely.||Shower was nice welcoming and hot.||View at 7am in the morning chopping wood was spectacular (apologies to those in cabin 2).||We had a good stay - even if only for one night.
