My absolute favorites are the Original Tart and Matcha Tart—these two are my top picks. Of course, I always go for these because, let’s face it, the Original is a timeless classic, while the Matcha is one of my all-time favourite flavours. Whether it’s Matcha latte, chocolate, cake, or ice cream, it’s always a winner for me. Next time, I think I’ll try some other flavours, and I hope Hokkaido introduces more options like black sesame, coffee, pistachio, and so on.

Today, as it was my mum’s birthday, I bought a box of the original flavour and a box of the flavoured ones as afternoon tea treats for the party. I also got myself three for lunch—caramel and strawberry were absolutely delicious. I really enjoyed them!

Also, unfortunately, I’ve noticed that when buying in the afternoon, the tarts are often not very hot. They’re not exactly cold, but I don’t like them warm.

Visited this Japanese baked cheese tart spot and was absolutely blown away! The tarts have a perfect balance of creamy richness and delicate sweetness, complemented flawlessly by their aromatic coffee. The fusion of traditional Japanese techniques with the comforting flavors of cheese and coffee is a match made in heaven. A must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth!

This baked cheese tart shop rocks.

The cheese is always full of flavour, the biscuit base is always fresh and crumbly.

Everything works so well. I could eat these every day haha.

And with an ever expanding menu, its even better!

Mango and passionfruit is the latest flavour and in the two years since I’ve last had the pleasure of consuming a delicious cheese tart inflation has come for the prices. At $5.20 for a flavoured they are expensive considering Casa de Nata tarts are like $4 and arguably yummier but frankly it’s not going to stop me eating these tasty treats

Original review
I was a little late to the party but upon hearing about the new Hokkaido flavour of salted caramel I couldn’t wait to try and it was everything I’d dreamed and more, I’d go as far as to say it’s their best flavour yet. Upon arriving home I only wished I’d bought more

So I never write bad reviews but I will make an exception……
Yesterday I ordered 5 tarts from the Box Hill store around 12 and the assistant started putting each tart into small paper bags. I asked if they could be put into a box and she told me it would cost $2.50 extra just for the box. So they are trying to make a profit even for the box?!
C’mon, you are charging $5 for a small tart! I was obliviously not going to be eating the 5 tarts straight away. So by the time I got home to enjoy it with my family, the custard had all stuck to the paper bags, some had tipped over upside down and ruined.

So disappointing.

Comparing this to an egg tart is ideal but after having one of these cheesecake tarts - it definitely is not.

Having been use to the original flavour with a crusty base and an oozy cheesy centre with a slighty hard top, this little tart does not disappoint for a pick me up 3pm arvo snack.

Various flavours are now available, chocolate, strawberry and blueberry! Tried the strawberry and it was just pleasant. Nothing beats the original. Overall an ok snack but nothing to rave about.
