The Vanilla Slice is definitely among the best for taste, just due to the height of the custard layer, the proportion is not great. I would recommend halving the height of the custard layer, making it more economical and affordable.
The guiness record is great to have but might not be what everyone is looking for.
Texture, custard and pastry amazing!
Recommend the profiterols as well

Went there recently and tried their French Vanilla Slice. It was thick and creamy. Sweet, but not overly sweet and perfect with a cup of coffee.
Service was perfect, the lady who served us was friendly and attentive.
Overall atmosphere was fine, the set up is just a small bakery, but it's good enough to sit down and enjoy the award winning slice.
Glad that I gave it a shot, it truly is the best Vanilla Slice I've ever had! Will be back again 😋

Great place to Visit. Awesome service. Vanilla and chocolate slice was delicious. Would have posted a photo but the 380 km drive and the slices fell over but the custard was amazing. Worth the trip.

Many flavours of vanilla slice to choose from. All fresh, very delicious, light on the tummy and not overly sweet.

We rode our motorcycles all the way from the north west to Cheltenham to try out the Vanilla slice and since we were there, also tested the profiteroles. Amazing quality, both the vanilla slice and profiteroles. Worth the ride. The vanilla slice is humongous, measuring 12 x 6 x 10 cm's. I managed to wolf down one and a profiteroles and a vanilla slice but my partner could only manage a quarter of the slice which was promptly and without asking was put in a nice box to take home. Something else, both the owners of this place are about the friendliest people I have met in my life. Great stuff, sure we will be back. Ed and Angela

It was an exciting day when i discovered & first samples the Vanilla Slices here. These are the very best Vanilla Slices i have ever had. Love the doughnuts & their other products too. The owner & staff a friendly, happy & great to deal with. The Cafe is a real treasure wrapped in an unassuming exterior. Ive recommended Flinders Vanilla Slice Cafe to all my friends.

I bought three different types: the original, french and the banana. The custard was great - however two of the slices had undercooked pastry☹️. For $11 per slice, it is a pity about the quality.
