My husband and daughter frequent this establishment on a regular basis when they visit Melbourne.
We chose to have breakfast here today and were not disappointed.
We were seated straight away and served quickly.
It can get crowded but today it was not.
Seating is a little tight but you could say that adds to the charm.
Food was yummy and coffee was good
What is will say is that the owner recognises my daughter and is always super friendly.

Hands down the best corn fritter I’ve ever had, with a menu packed full of vegan options. Ask for John—he can turn just about any dish into a veggie-friendly delight. As expected in Melbourne, the coffee is exceptional, and these guys absolutely nailed it. Great coffee, warm vibes, and genuine care. Easily the food highlight of my this Melbourne trip!

Excellent food and service. We ordered Duck Risotto and it was delicious. Not too cheesy or buttery, well cooked rice, and balanced flavours.

Service was great. Staff were helpful and quick.

Will certainly go again.

the pancakes were very poor, they tasted like microwave pancakes and the berries on top weren’t fresh they were frozen berries from the packet did not taste good at all. was very disappointed!! not edible. i gave nice & honest feedback to a staff member/ possibly the manager and then got spoken to disrespectfully.

Stopped for lunch today and was delighted to find that they had so many gluten free options! We had the club sandwich and their own brand of coffee which was delicious. We will be coming back for the great food and service. Thank you!!

Ah, Xpressomondo — where the espresso is average, and the ambiance is curated by the high-pitched wails of tiny humans mid-exorcism. Yes, we unknowingly booked ourselves in for “Bring Your Screaming Toddler to Breakfast Day,” a sensory experience like no other. Nothing pairs with eggs quite like a full-volume tantrum over who gets the blue crayon.

Now, onto the food. The Big Breakfast arrived looking like it had survived a mild car crash. The tomato was raw and cold — bold choice, clearly meant to shock the palate awake. The bacon was greasier than a mechanic’s handshake, and the sausage? Let’s just say it was “al dente” with a surprise spice kick that whispered, “you’re going to regret this in an hour.”

Amid the chaos and chlorophyll explosion (seriously, who needs that much leafy garnish?), the scrambled eggs emerged like a golden, fluffy MVP. Honestly, they deserved a round of applause — if only we had hands free from covering our ears.

Service was… fine. Not bad, not great, just kind of there, like a distant cousin at a family BBQ. Not quite the polished Degraves service we were promised, but then again, the staff probably suffered hearing loss too.

My partner and I went for breakfast here and observed the manager speaking very poorly to his staff. He was telling them that they were making coffee too slowly, meanwhile we had waited 20 minutes for our food (which the manager was meant to be cooking in the back).
When our meals arrived my partners eggs were burnt and almost inedible and the rest of the breakfast burger was cold. My fried egg was completely undercooked and the entire white area was running off the sandwich.
I would not go here again due to the managers clear disrespect for his staff and the poor quality of food he presented.
The coffees made by the employees he was rude to were lovely though.

The manager was very friendly, nice and even offered us free drinks after hearing our comments about the prices, which was a nice gesture. We had a few small conversations, and he made sure to check in on us.

We ordered two pizzas: a Veggie pizza and a Tandoori chicken pizza. The Tandoori pizza was unique and tasty, with a soft but sturdy crust, definitely the better of the two. A memorable pizza for me. Unfortunately, the veggie pizza was just okay, especially for the high price. The crust was a bit dry and hard, and it wasn’t sliced all the way through, so we had to cut it ourselves.

For drinks, the hot chocolate was good. I could tell real chocolate was used since there was some settled at the bottom. I was told that the coffee was average, not bad, but not amazing and that the chai tea was quite good.

My family enjoyed the thin crust style of the pizza. Overall, the experience was decent, though the veggie pizza didn’t quite live up to its price. Still, the service was welcoming, the manager was great, and some menu items stood out.
