We had dinner at the Manor with our Family. Despite « the Charlottes » not being open, they had a nice little selection of easy, simple dining options. We had a cheese board, a couple of quiches and a sausage roll. Everything was of great quality! The wine list was surprisingly varied and had good options for any occasion. Renato was a great host and looked after us really well. Refreshing to find such a place with that sense of hospitality in such a remote place. Keep up the good work. Cheers

Franklin Manor is a charming historic inn located in the quaint town of Strahan. It is an older but well maintained property with very nice and comfortable furnishings. Rooms are a bit smaller than you might find in a new hotel but the atmosphere and touches like a billiard room and lovely lounge make the place distinctive and welcoming! Thomas and Cathy are gracious hosts and their friendliness added to the pleasure of our stay. The hotel also has a restaurant, Charlotte’s, which offers a tasting menu and optional wine pairing. We had both the “classic” and vegetarian menus and found it a delightful experience, and the wines were a perfect match for the food. The French chef emphasizes local ingredients and the entire meal was terrific. The atmosphere is casual but the food and service is first rate. A great place to stay.

The Franklin Manor was a nice easy 10 minute walk to the main street attractions i.e. heating areas and boat cruises. The whole building is very old-fashioned and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The gastronomic menu with French cuisine and local wines was an amazing treat, something we had never tried before. breakfast is were good proportions

A great 2 day stay in this elegant and spacious heritage house. The service and attention to detail was excellent. There have been previous comments regarding soft mattresses so we asked in advance for a firm one and we were informed that the thick topper on the bed in our room had been taken off. The result was perfect for us.||One minor niggle was the narrow bath with an old style shower over, which made things a little awkward.||The in house restaurant (Charlottes) was a pleasant surprise. We booked dinner at short notice and discovered they only offer an 8 course tasting menu. This turned out to be french style fine dining, with french staff, tasted delicious and was very good value.|

Beautifully restored home converted to stylish accommodation. Furnishings matched the era and tastefully appointed lounge areas were inviting. Staff were helpful and very friendly. The newly opened Charlottes French restaurant operating out of The Manor is a must. The food was delicious and was paired with Tasmanian wines. François, the chef, was an extremely knowledgeable and gracious host. A splendid venue

I have mixed feelings about our stay at Franklin Manor. The hotel is beautiful, and being here truly does feel like stepping back in time.

We made good use of the pool table and beautiful guest lounge, and had only positive interactions with the friendly staff. The hotel is also very conveniently located, within easy walking distance to various activities and amenities. The toiletries were lovely, and free parking was convenient.

All this being said, our bed was unbelievably uncomfortable. The mattress is impossible to sleep on, it is VERY uneven and worn down and absolutely needs to be replaced. The curtains in our room were also very frayed. There was also an unpleasant odour in the bathroom (we couldn’t find the source but it remained for the duration of our stay).

An elegant and spacious house with high ceilings. Great attention to detail with attentive staff. A substantial breakfast and the evening meal in the restaurant (Charlottes) was a very pleasant surprise. Turned out to be an eight course, French style, tasting menu - delicious and at a reasonable price.

We stayed 2 nights. A beautiful experience. I loved the feeling of stepping back in time. The house has exquisite furniture and fittings. Breakfast was superb. Just a short walk to down town Strahan
