Excellent Pub! Really friendly staff & great meals ! Probably one of the best Scotch fillets I’ve ever had! |Chicken parmigiana night is AMAZING!!! |You can’t get much else but a parmy but the variety was something else!! |Best to book ! But they do take away if no tables available!

Had a room for a week. $80 a night with ensuite. Bargain for Flinders island.
Very comfortable queen sized bed with a huge led tv. Room just old and tired

We didn't stay at the Interstate Hotel, so can't comment on the standard of accommodation. However, did enjoy an excellent lunch in their lovely dining room as well as breakfast in the adjoining Corner Cafe, which is part of the pub. The dining room had plenty of old-world charm. Pretty much a standard pub-grub menu but servings decent and prices reasonable. Excellent coffee in the cafe and the grilled tomatoes, mushrooms and poached eggs easily the best breakfast I had on Flinders.

I stayed 4 nights and was warmly welcomed by staff and regulars. My ensuite room (21) was clean and warm and quiet. With my window facing the force of the weather, the building is somewhat tired at the rear thus my 4 stars - like a lot of country pubs it is 5 stars where it counts which is the people and the food and drink.||The staff kept an eye out for my return each day. Yes their meals are great and so is genuine friendliness of local characters.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Well appointed and clean dining area. Wood fire keeps it snuggly and warm and adds to the ambience.
Great menu at reasonable prices. Especially for Flinders Island.
Parmy Tuesday is great value, with a huge parmy, salad, chips and a beer, wine or soft drink.
Well worth a visit when in Whitemark.

Conveniently located in Whitemark this old drinking institution still serves as one of the main watering holes on Flinders Island. The bar area is simple - it looks like a million other bars in Australia - with a pool table and sports on the big screen.||The bistro out the back is quite pleasant and sometimes darn near full. The portions are generous and if you like simple pub far then this will be perfect for you.||Accommodation can be had. I only stayed in the simpler rooms with shared facilities. The rooms were fine. No complaints. The facilities were basic but also fine and appeared quite clean.||Perhaps it was just my room and not the entire hotel but I found squadrons of mosquitos in my room and - even after they'd all been killed - it transpired that within an hour or two more had arrived. So I was well and truly bitten. But surely that was just my room!||If you just want somewhere functional to stay and aren't after some swanky place with postcard views the prices here make this a very attractive option. And the staff were friendly to boot.

Although they have the best and biggest meals, staying there leaves alot to be desired. Each room has a tv which doesn't work. The furnishings were at least 40 years old and very shabby looking. The staff are very friendly and accommodating but thats it. Flinders Island only has the Telstra network, so if you are on any other network you will have no internet or phone and to make a call, would have to walk to phone box. I had no power points working near my bed so, on a very wintry night, had no heater or electric blanket and froze all night.

Had lunch here a duo of crumbed flake and calamari was beautiful the other a chicken wrap. |Both meals came with chips and a really colourful salad. |Bar prices for drinks were reasonably priced as well. |Lunch between 12-1.30 and dinner between 6-7.30 not sundays.
