I was booked in for four nights. I arrived at approximately 6pm on my first night (daylight saving had just finished, so it was not quite dark when I arrived). It was nigh impossible to know where reception was. I looked around some of the cottages in the dark and stumbled across a small reception sign on one of the doors. The lady owner was inside. She told me she wasn't expecting anyone! This was despite my electronic confirmation of booking. She told me there had been an untimely death in her community and she was quite tired and upset from that experience. She was quite elderly, but rather charming so I took it in my stride, hoping that things could be sorted fairly quickly.|| I think another part of the problem for her is that she doesn't use electronic communication, and seems to rely on her own form of paper records, which are best described as random. After struggling to find the bunch of keys to all the cottages, but not having any success in the dark to unlock any of the cottages, eventually she found one cottage which had been left unlocked, but also unprepared for any guests. By this stage I was quite eager to get into my room and relax for the night. However this took quite some time as she had to struggle to get clean sheets and towels etc. I ended up helping her make the bed. ||Other issues with the cottage were that it is quite dusty and while superficially pleasant, it is quite fusty and could do with a good clean - preferably by professional cleaners. I think the lady owner runs the whole place, but it appears to be more than she can cope with. In the advertising the cottages are listed as luxury! Probably the most disappointing place I have ever stayed in.

The owner, Iris, was very friendly and welcoming and had already put the heater on to warm up the cottage before we arrived on a very cold weekend. It was great to have a separate kitchen to have breakfast and a light meal. The kitchen was very well supplied with crockery and cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils. Everything we could need. It was great to have comfy couches to sit and watch TV with plenty of cushions. The bed was comfortable but only a double and the ensuite was nicely done. The whole cottage was furnished pleasantly with lovely old furniture, or at least it looked old. We will certainly stay here again as it was a great base to visit our family and have room for them to come and visit with us.

We were under the impression that there would be an oven and microwave - no oven. Nothing in the kitchen was clean but we were fortunate in having our own cutlery, utensils etc. (been caught before). There was a wok supplied but the bottom was thick with something black and very burnt and the rest of it was covered in rust and goodness knows what else. It belonged in the rubbish bin not the kitchen. The other pans consisted of 1 small frying pan and 1 saucepan - all had seen better days. Oven gloves were supplied with someone other persons food stuck on them. One bar of soap was supplied with another pre-owned one in the draw. The white towels were hard and grey and the sheets were of poor quality. The outside furniture was dirty so dining outside was a joke. The ceiling lights didn't work so we had to eat using a lamp. The wi-fi was hopeless. Do we have anything positive to say ? The gas heater in the lounge was excellent and the bathroom was spacious. Heaps of room for a towel rail but surprise there wasn't one, only a couple of hooks.

Upon arriving was told we were late and should have arrived at 2pm, also told we were lucky they didn't give the cottage to other people, even though I prepaid. How rude! Cottage was dirty, cobwebs everywhere. Coffee mugs were not clean and I had to sterilise them in boiling water. Tea and coffee provided but no milk. Was also told the heater didn't work, when we checked it there was nothing wrong with it. Do they even want people to stay I would not recommend this place and will never stay there again.

We booked & paid over $200 through Wotif & requested a late checkin. I called all day to confirm that but my call was never returned. I called Wotif but they also can't reach her. Arrived & it was all locked up, noone around. More messages & Wotif calls standing in the freezing dark night but still we coun't make contact. Wotif than said if we were not checking in they would cancel it. By this time it was 9:30pm. They then sent an email saying no refund as I cancelled I have informed them the property is a scam via their email but it bouced back. They even blocked me from leaving a review. I guess they have their comission so they do not care. The property was even listed as vacant to take my money while I was there last night & again today but it is not. ||We had to find other rooms for 4 people at 10pm or sleep in the car, it was expensive & a horrible experience.||Please don't put yourself through it.

Would not stay here ever again. Cottage set up and layout was probably good back in its day, but the unit we stayed in was badly neglected. The place was dirty with an old tea cup and used tea bag left in kitchen sink which had been there for quite some time. Spiders and cobwebs in every corner of the main room. Had to reach through cobweb to turn on light switch and A/C switch in main room. Bathroom sink and shower base dirty and have not been cleaned for some time. Shower taps did not work properly with the water flow actually decreasing the more you turned the tap on and what’s more NO HOT WATER. Tried to contact owner with no success to rectify or discuss. Fairly evident that there is insufficient care and attention paid to what was once upon a time a good venture. Very disappointed 😑😑😑

We booked 3 months in advance, they accepted the booking and took the Money. We drove 4 hours to get there (the plan was to keep driving another 4 hours the next day). Upon arrival the owner told us "you can't stay here this place is closed! you should have called me before!" and when asked for the money she said "that is not my problem! we are closed!". Couldn't find another place so I drove the extra 4 hours that night. Just AVOID this place please.

Firstly, if you love a gamble then roll the dice on these pathetic excuses of oxygen-wasting life forms. Secondly, book through a booking platform - this way if you've paid and they decide to abandon the place and switch their phones off and leave you with nowhere to stay, you're more likely to get your money back.

I have mistakenly not read previous reviews so don't make the same mistake!

Also, leave the guy next door to the reception alone - he's not associated with those parasites so there's no point knocking on his door.
