I had the best Portuguese tart I've tried so far in Sydney at this place. It was incredibly delicious—rich, buttery, and perfectly flaky. The portion was quite generous, perhaps a bit much for one person, but I happily finished it. I also ordered a black sesame latte out of curiosity, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise—I really enjoyed it.

It’s Sunday 1:45pm and there are just 6 pastries left, so I swiftly order a pandan croissant. I cut into it and see a black, hard base.

I look to the next table and notice burnt crumbs on their plates, too. The croissant has doughy layers supporting the weight of the fragrant pandan cream and shredded coconut top and a second layer of the same inside, with chewy palm sugar strands underneath. With each bite, the pastry gets sweeter.

Why is there so much filling? Should I order a tea with this? After much mulling over, I leave half of it - five dollars' worth.

The handwritten paper menu, ‘Pastries Lineups’ with a smiley face, doesn’t mention this item, but there is a novel array of French and Korean inspired bakes: pistachio crookie (half croissant and cookie), yuzu kouign amann (a breadier croissant) and a sweet and spicy pork snag (Australian for sausage). Surely there must be a reason why they have a second store in Manly. Perhaps Tenacious Bakehouse should get a second visit?

Really glad I stopped by Tenacious Bakehouse! The space itself is cozy and inviting, though it can get a little tight during peak hours. I had the fruit tart and the pandan croissant — both were fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. The pandan croissant was especially unique, with that lovely subtle sweetness and flaky layers done just right. The fruit tart had vibrant, juicy fruit and a nice balance of crisp pastry and creamy filling.

When you visit Tenacious Bakehouse make sure you try the vanilla basque cheesecake. The consistency is just perfect and it is absolutely delicious!
In general, the selection in sweet and savoury pastry is big enough, so that you will find yourself struggling not to try everything at once.
I can fully recommend this bakery to anybody wanting to indulge.

I went in at a quiet time. Throughly enjoyed the cheesecake brownie combo. What a wonderful idea. Pretty spoilt for choice cause everything looks too good. The cheesecake felt rich but balanced. The brownie was a nice touch. The black sesame iced latte was intriguing. Sweet and a touch of saltiness and nutty which I love. I’d get it again.

Decided to try somewhere new in my work neighbourhood.
My choice was fab, my espresso was perfect, and a beautiful blend of beans. The bareista sorted it promptly.

Next time I'll be there for the baked goods - so many options sweet and savoury - how will I choose?!

Fusion bakery so good we came back twice, and possibly a third. Everything was tasty, from their jeyuk croissant to their taro cream croissant. Wanted to try everything.
